    tips for the new guy

    Hello-

This is my third grow, all three grows were Aurora Indica. First two used galaxyhydro 270w LED in 3 gallon smart pots, got about 4 oz total from two plants. This time moved up to roleadro 400w (not second generation) and 5 gallon smart pots. All three times I used organic super soil from a local store that makes it and used slight levels of general hydroponic organic nutes. I kept the light 14 inches away (see pic about 2.5 weeks before harvest) since early veg. I topped and did some bending/tying. For tying, I used pipe cleaners but did not wrap around to prevent cutting into stems. Did some defoliation throughout. The pic you see is of the earliest harvested plant. Her sister was cut two days later. Her sister also stretched a bit more between nodes throughout despite same conditions as this girl. Both were vegged for 31 days and the one in the pic flowered for 57 days and her sister was 59 to get the 30ish percent amber trichs I like. Both plants yielded about 2.5 oz each for a one ounce total yield increase between the light and pot size upgrades. Oh yeah, I learned 95% of my knowledge from this website, which is why I joined for you all's feedback. My questions below, thanks in advance. Any other feedback is welcome.

Anything to prevent or decrease stretching from one plant to another with same genetics/conditions?

anything you see I did or didn't do that you'd like to comment on/ recommend from the pics below? Again, only third grow ever, so please be gentle.

I am am an indica fan, any other recommendations of good strains (from experience, I've looked a lot online, but would love to hear from growers). I've only ordered from Nirvana, but am open to others.

    Cheers!

What a beautiful plant. Nice even canopy. It looks like a nice short plant? How tall was it before harvest? My goal is for my next grow to look something like yours.

Thanks! Pic one and three are of the plant on the right in pic two. She was 26 in and her sis on the left was 30. What you cant see in the pic was i had to put a 2x4 under the plant on the right to keep them even after the girl on the left kept stretching.

Welcome to the group. By looking at your grow, you don't need any help. We might be asking you some questions. LOL

      Hello Dorian

You did good with the 2x4 if you keep the plants flat like a table both the same tying and binding (mine did stay the same) I do hydro but I think almost the same. Be inventive and I think Nebula is a good teacher!

Nice looking plants !! Must be born with a green thumb. As far as stretch issue I've found that most strains have different phenotypes (according to seedfinder.eu site also) and there isn't much you can do to figure out which is which until they grow.

Thanks. I have read that aurora indica had a few phenotypes and suspected this might be the case. All three cycles had one of the plants slightly outperform the other but this cycle's stretch was the most noticeable.

Thanks! This thread has been so supportive and kind. I was a bit hesitant to join based on some of the meanness and back and forth I have seen elsewhere. As someone who had never seen a live plant prior to growing except on the internet, it is hard to compare your results with some of the beauty shots you see online so this feedback is super helpful.

Greetings, Beautiful girls you have there. Hard to imagine you needing any tips as well as you did for a third grow.

Thanks. That is so awesome to hear. It is hard to know where one should be by third grow when you don't have a community to talk and compare with. Like I said in my original post, I have gotten most of my info from this site. While I did my due diligence and research across the web, I found myself always coming back here. Hearing this I feel like a good student
