I'm a first time grower as well and from what I researched, it really depends on what type of effect your going for. I believe for a more psychoactive effect, you want about 70% of your trichomes to become milky white. When your trich's start turning amber, I believe you achieve a more relaxed body effect. Once again, I'm a first time grower as well, so I could be wrong. This is all based on what I've read.

Do you have and optical magnifier by chance?

First time grower also but all the pros have been telling me those white pistils on top sticking straight up says you are still growing.

Howdy Tbone04, Rooster and Jeg have it right. Your plant looks great, but look closely at the trichomes to see their condition, then based on what You want out of it, flush and harvest.
        Good luck with your grow.

Just from the photos that You posted, I think that they need some more time. I prefer the pain relieving effects, so I start the flush when a few (5%) start to turn amber and as few clear as possible.
This is the hardest part (to me), waiting and watching for the proper time to harvest.

Exactly what I was looking to hear. I too am looking for the pain relief or for me the pains are still there I just don't care as much and I can work through them.

DW2, I was hoping a more advanced grower ike yourself would chime in. There's so much info on this site, its really easy to get mixed up. Thanks for confirming.

I forgot to add that I have always had new white pistils on the plants, no matter how advanced (cloudy or amber) that the trichomes get because, I think, that the plant will to produce new calyces in an attempt to produce the seed for the next generation, so it will always have some white pistils on it. I do not pay much attention to the condition of the pistils at the top of the buds, just the older ones.
        Good luck with your grow.

Patience Grass Hopper, (showing my age, a reference to the TV series 'Kungfu') great weed comes to all who wait! This is the most trying time of the grow, so close yet so far! But, it will get better, with every grow, You will get a better understanding of what works best for You and Your growing conditions. It is some what like Doctors and Lawyers, growing is a practice, You keep learning as You go.
        Good luck
