I do not but my buddy does for his mother..she has cancer
and she takes 2 table spoons twice a day....it has made her life bearable and totally helps her..sleep... eat...manage pain and her blood cells are improving (white or red can't remember)

Her doctor says it has saved her life....or at least added more time.

Lol....nutty bars have become her go to munchie food

Tika, this is one of your specialties, isn't it? how are tinctures used? I think I remember seeing a tutorial from Nebula, but not sure. If I recall correctly, you don't particularly like to smoke, as I don't either. So give me the scoop on tinctures.

My biggest health issues are insomnia, been battling chronic depression for many years, and I also have somewhat advanced spinal stenosis and bad knees. One is ready for a replacement, but I am not ready to commit to that just yet.

Hubbys ailments are more severe. Crohn's - he has already had 3 bowel resectionings, also has diverticulitis of the bladder, His third major health issue is osteoporosis. He had a minor heart attack 5 years ago, but his heart problems are well under control. Because he has short bowel syndrome, he has a hard time absorbing nutrients properly.

Are tinctures mainly for certain conditions?

Folks: I am enthused about tinctures because they are very similar to a joint. Drops are done sublinguly..under your tongue. Effects kick in 15 min or so..not like edibles at all! More like smoking. One can tritrate at will and know where they are in minutes...tinctures can be night, day, subtle mix etc.
good for anything smoking is good for. I do not cultivate CBD s..although may one day to deal with my dogs.
I questioned the group always seeking to improve.
the tinctures are either with 151 Bacardi Rum or..190 proof everclear...we had to drive to Arizona to get that proof...not sold in CA.
        (jeez another long yarn..)
so this last harvest is Indica and reports are that it is my best.( personally I like Nirvana's Jock Horror tincture I make because it is high energy get her done drops) . Needs are night ( I only sleep 4-5 hrs tops) . So I am making ( yet another batch decarbing now) and will soak in ever clear 190 proof / shake for about 11 days..then strain.
tinctures have a long history with all kinds of resinous herbs including cannabis. They treat as well as tritrate anyone wishing to tie on a load. No insult here but men are slow to get it. But getting it.
tinctures can be used as any other form of Imbibing for whatever ailment depending on strain etc.
More immediate than Lolly pops insomniaczzz for sure
        if I could smoke I would . I do t even
Iike my own cookies...too strong too late
can I get kicked off forum for word salad?
        pictures to follow...decarb done...back in a few.

Funny. I love reading the "longies" but sometimes need to reserve time and read while moving my lips. And have to remember what it was I wanted to read where!
          Thanks bob

I'm very interested in seeing this process. Thank for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. I'm very interested in CBD tinctures as well. Ive heard equal parts thc to cbd has amazing health/wellness benefits. I tried a strain called cannatonic which was mostly cbd with some thc. It gave me a warm feeling of comfort. Not high but relaxed and comfortable.

Thats great about your dogs. I heard some miracle stories of dogs on cbd. Nothing worse than watching a family member in pain...

How do you decarb your bud?

I'm hearing also about the benefits of balancing THC with CBD for being not so psychoactive, but medically beneficial. I'm growing Bubblelicious now for the high CBD content...can't wait to try! 😊 Cannatonic sounds real attractive also! 🌻

I too am interested in a strain higher in CBD. Had a few bad paranoia/anxiety experiences so I am hesitant to get back into the whole smoking vaping. My last attempt, about 2 weeks ago, went pretty well though. Just takes some getting used to. I love the way you described the warm feeling of comfort. Exactly what I am looking for.

Have you ever grown an auto-flowering strain? They tend to be higher CBD than standard strains because they have wild hemp ancestors that are high in CBD. I'd say that the auto strains I grew were some of the most relaxing strains I've smoked before!

Excellent! Thanks Tika, great topic. I am starting to look into tinctures for helping with depression (during the day while at work), as well as my growing aches and arthritic pains. Until my first grow is harvested, I've been getting dabs at the dispensary and baking them into cookies, which is a little frustrating because my goal is a very light effect that I forget to look for by the time my edibles kick in, so I end up thinking it didn't do anything.

I really like the idea that tinctures are faster onset. Does that also mean that they don't last as long? Do the different strain characteristics come through in the tinctures? Do you have a favorite strain for tinctures?

Is that really all there is to making tinctures? Grind your flowers, decarb them, then soak in alcohol and strain?
Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.

Thanks! I can't wait to try this too. CAN'T THESE PLANTS GROW ANY FASTER???!?!? I came back to cannabis last summer, after many years off. Jack Herer was the first strain I tried, and it was so much fun, I giggled my ass off. Jock Horror is definitely on my list to try. That's the type of effect I'm hoping for, just not too silly to function. Silly would be good for weekends, though.

Heckya Bob. I got seeds for Dr.Shiva and AsianDream coming. We should have meetings: Asians smoking Asians! Of course, it wouldn't be a requirement, just have to get chinese-eyed.

I don't but I'm getting a little tired of the seemingly constant throat clearing I do these days so I'm subbed and super interested. Sleep and pain aid would be my choice. Depending on quantity needed some of my about to be chopped ladies might go from solid to liquid...
