    stunted growth

my plant has been growing for 3 weeks and still only looks like a sprout. I have a cfl light ( I have let it sit outside in the sun for the past few days because its been nicw and sunny) good soil , haven't used any nutrients take yet ( they have been ordered fox farm) , it's on an 18:6 light cycle. after the first 2 weeks the bottom rounded leaves turned yellow and I gently pulled them off. I'm a first time grower and very sad about my current plant situation lol please help !

Sorry you are having trouble on your first grow. The soil looks a little dense (no perlite etc). Could it be it is over watered? Or something else in the soil slowing it down (time released nutrients/lime/etc) ? It is really small for 3 weeks. Where did you get the soil/what kind is it? What kind of CFL (watts) and how far away?

so I transplanted it into new soil ( fox farm ocean blend) and added more lights to my set up , it is now growing much better . when I took my plant out of the original soil ( which was a cheap brand and I regret it) there was mold growing in the soil . not sure if that was the reason but it seems to hae helped to use the different soil . I also got the fox farm nutrients to use 2 weeks after transplanting so hopefully everything will go smoothly from now on . thank you all for your help !

    311,

i am having the same issue with my plants, there 3 weeks old just started to grow a second node (small) and the second set of serrated leaves. I have 2 600w hps lights, only one going on veg. I have light sunlight distance away. I am using coco coir for my soil, but my problem/downfall is that I did not use any nutrients until the 3rd week, because I am transplanting them into Super Soil/Hot Soil!! So with that you Do Not use any nutrients because there amended in soil already. So I thought I could get away while there still little with just using ph'd water until I transplanted them. I was Wrong!!! I have 10 plants 1 of them just started to curl up and dry out so before it was to late, I grabbed some nutes and started a regimen before I transplant them. It's been 2 days and so far so good again not much has happened but the plant seems to b reacting to nutes. Write me further if you want to go over things.
