If your seeds continue to float, I would guess that water in not penetrating the seed shell as it should. If you try everything else and it doesn't work, before you give up, there is a trick that I have NOT tried, where you line the inside of a small box, like a match box, with sandpaper, You put the seeds in the box and shake them around to scratch up the seed shell. The theory is, that the water will be able to penetrate the shell where the scratches are. Just say'n

It worked! Germ in less than 24 hours on the paper towel. Thanks to everyone for the fine advice, it appears that the lack of warmth was main the issue, it is my pleasure to introduce Ami, Beti, Cindi, Debi, and Elli.

The older seeds started to react too, but they are going to get ziploc/fridged because 5 plants is a misdemeanor and 10 is a felony. I will play re-animator with them in 3 months.

How many things could be this much fun on so many levels!

If cold was the main issue they sell little warming pads for germination staton humidity dome things. You can probably find one on Amazon for like 10 bucks. They worked pretty good for me. I don't know if they would dry out a paper towel to fast tho
