What is the best fluorescent light for a 4x4 space?

I'll jump in here. I would not try to light a 4X4 tent with fluorescent. My first grow box was 2X1.5X3 ft tall,,I had 12 100w CFLs in there that produced 20,000 lumons of light.
I grew some very nice autos in there,, but you would not be able to do the same in a 4x4 tent even with 12 100w cfls. I know you didn't say CFLs but that would be the best option. If you have the $$$$ for it, I would recommend COB 50w LEDs X 5-6 for that tent. If you don't have the $$$$ I would go with a much smaller tent if you still want to use CFLs. Good luck with that.

Lots of T5 lights. When you say "starters" do you mean seedlings?

Yes, seedlings and clones.

Ok, as I said earlier, T5 And you can have the plants as close as 2" from the light. Thats what i use for all my seedlings.
