OK so the Wipeout Express has passed on...she never sprouted or shed her shell once planted. The Trainwreck is coming along at Day 32. I trimmed two more fans off yesterday. The other trim spots are forming their tops nicely. I re-soaked the other 3 seeds...the Trainwreck and White Widow both popped, so they're back in paper towels. The other Wipeout Express is just siting there. This is truly an experiment lol! Chugga Chugga...onward!

The ones you have are looking promising for sure...Im gonna subscribe cuz I'm really interested to see how that Wipeout Express works out_ have some seeds but haven't planted em yet....I had a white widow that sprouted this last time but didn't do well enough to keep her instead of a Gold Mine that was doing much better.

I do basically the same thing as CCisme_ soak a rapid rooter or similar, slice it in half, put a seed in and lay it on its side. Look at it every 24 hrs. When the root tip has grown out at least a 1/4 " I put it into production. If not, I try another. Usually I try to sprout 2x as many seeds as I want plants. Opens up options for later to grow the strongest plants.

elevating smart pots is a must do. I got these plastic risers that fit into trays to catch the runout. Works great. Found out the hard way I needed to use larger trays though_ get ones large and deep enough to hold at least 1 gallon of water.

So it's Day 29 and the Trainwreck is growing nicely. I gave her a little trim today. I'll probably feed her tomorrow. She's a little long, but time will fix that. I planted one of the Wipeout Expresses a week ago and it's been slow to sprout. I'm a little discouraged with that. I should be growing 5 plants, not 2 smh. O well...3 PhotosLast edited by MrGreen23; 04-17-2017, 08:30 PM.

So my little 'Trainwreck is chugging right along. I fed her yesterday and she's now working on her 3rd node. The other seeds are germing in paper towels for the second day...should be planting them in the next day or so.1 Photo

Everyone has their favorite germination method! Why not stick with the one that works best for you? I've also had really great germination rates with the paper towel method! I think it may be my favorite method

I've had the worst luck using any method besides the paper towel. Hoping to break that trend and use rockwool cubes next grow.

Thanks guys. My mistake is that I didn't water my coco/perlite mix before planting. Once I watered, I probably flooded the seeds and they went too deep to sprout...just my guess. I germ in pHed water for a day or two, then to paper towels if needed, although they usually pop in the water.

You can put lid on bowl or in zip lock. Check daily, make sure they don't drown, wet towle good, sitting in water too much water bad.
here was germ example.2 PhotosLast edited by Jibblerjoe; 03-31-2017, 06:40 AM.
