    Gadgets...to help growing

I've always been a gadget freak and love electronics. Before I started growing I installed a NEST thermostat..basically an internet accessible home thermostat for AC/Heat.
When I started growing I saw another gadget...Sensorpush...(http://www.sensorpush.com/) to remotely monitor temperature and humidity, using their wifi gateway. I put it in my grow tent. You can set alarms to notify you of upper and lower limits for Temp and Humidity.
Today, the low temp alarm went off on my iPhone..it was under 69° in the tent. I brought up the NEST thermostat app and raised the house temperature to 71° and within 20 minutes the tent was back up to 70°. I'll be able to do the same in the summer, regulating the AC remotely.

These two gadgets are turning into very useful apps for the grow.
    Just thought I'd share.

Oh I know, trust me it's getting old! Already grow is running now on 2 separate 12 gauge extension cords each on its own 20 amps circuit. 200amp panel is maxed out, saving money for the sub panel install...playing electric musical chairs until then...

Resetting the breaker remotely is a tough one. For an internet controlled outlet...Edimax or Wimo will work....but, I don't trust it. I had my grow light on the Edimax..nice because it tracks energy usage and can run a schedule...but...I came down one morning and the lights were off!!..thought the ballast or bulb blew....luckily it was only the Edimax plug shut itself off...that was the end of using that gadget.

I like those lux meter apps you can get and use your phone to check how much light your plants are getting. I thought that was pretty high tech!
