Hello all, so I have read about nutrients and the importance of them but the main issue I guess I am having is I still am having a hard time understanding how to figure out the things like what my plant may need, how much of the proper amount and how often. From what I have read it almost sounds like you somewhat just follow the instructions that come with the nutrient bottles in some cases. So I was wondering If I am just supposed to do this and just generally estimate it and not worry if I am lacking something in particular? Or am I supposed to somehow figure how much of what specific nutrients I need? Thank you!

I grow a lot in an outdoors grrenhouse, 50/50 coco/perlite, 7 -10 gallon fabric pots, Always use GH trio nutes plus CaliMagic using the GWE half strength mixing recommendation. pH = 6.0. Mix nutes and water until you get some run off in the bottom saucer. I water everyday (don't dry out coco - you cannot overwater it). As easy as growing tomatoes. And, coco is reusable, clean and odorless. Same coco for five years.
I think too many growers get way too bogged down in fancy nutes, unnecessay ammendments and all the stuff the grow industry wants us to buy.
I have never had a failed grow. Lots of good bud and trim. Keep it simple. It is.
Oh, an FYI. If I see some leaf tip browning (aka nutrient burn) I simply reduce the amount of nutes with water. The plants don't mind.

Go the the main site and read https://www.growweedeasy.com/coco-coir and https://www.growweedeasy.com/wp-cont...s-schedule.pdf
I have used this as a guide for the last 6 years and it has never steered me wrong.Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Hello Bowii My experience is nutrient makers list their dosage amounts for plants grown in perfect conditions. Start at half the recommendations or 1/4. If you give your plants full strength nutrients it may kill them. Just as important as nutrient ratios is PPM and EC. Each measure the amount of stuff in your solution or the strength of your solution. And you can't forget about PH. Every nutrient the plant needs may be present for uptake but if the PH is off the plant won't be able to take up what it needs and it will suffer.
Without getting into the minutia MJ needs basic nutrients (N)itrogen, (P)hosphorous, and )K) Potassium at the macro level along with calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg) and Sulphur (S). There are some micro nutrients it needs but I can't tell you what they are off the top of my head. The nutrient ratios differ depending on the growth stage. Every maker has their respective ratios. Some of what you are asking depends on the grow medium as well. Soil has different requirements than Coco Coir and Hydro. Coco is considered hydro.
Allotrope1000 mentioned the KISS principle. IMHO, that's sage advice. One can get caught ($$$$) up in the seemingly infinite number of amendments, teas, sprays, and special applications for growing top shelf bud.
Most pharmers have their preferred nutrient line, grow method, and grow medium. If you look at Nebula's nutrient recommendations you cannot go wrong. https://www.growweedeasy.com/nutrientsLast edited by golfnrl; Yesterday, 07:43 PM.Growing Autos and Photos, Gorilla Grow tents, AC Infinity fans, exhaust, filter, humidifier, and controller, HLG Lamps, 50/50 Coco/Perlite, Autopot system, BlueLab PH Controller, CX Horticulture nutrients
