SOIL How fast will trichomes turn amber?

Hi. Currently have 2 plants in the harvest window. How long until the trichomes turn amber? almost all are milky/cloudy so i know it cant be long but I havent seen a single amber head on a calyx yet. Strains are Eleven Roses and All Gas. 59 days since flower for Eleven roses. All gas is right around there too. Also the Eleven Roses started growing a bunch of new pistils which I think is final swell. How long does this typically last? is it a bad sign or im chillin? thank you for reading!

Your buds look fire! Beautiful job growmie!

I always have a hard time with telling with trichomes, though there are trichome whisperers in these parts. I usually go by the overall time since 12/12 and how the buds look.

I had a Blue Dream once that kept putting out white pistils over and over like that. At some point I just decided, "These are done" and harvested them. I wonder if possibly light stress may have had something to do with it, as it was really strong LEDs. The buds were dense and smoked great, but it's hard to know if they would have been better if I let them mature longer.

In general, 59 days for flowering is pretty short for buds to be done, but I've noticed the newer strains seem to be getting faster. You could contact the breeder with pictures and ask. I've found usually breeders love to talk about their plants and have insight on what to expect.

Hopefully someone else here has more direct advice. Lovely plants!

That is up to the plants. Be patient. Also some strains do not turn amber.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

I'm assuming you have a jewelers loupe or similar device to look at the trichomes. I don't want to insult you with this but here's a link to perhaps a refresher about trich's and harvest time. https://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest#summary
If you have mostly cloudy trichomes you are in the harvest window. You've got a couple of weeks give or take to wait and see if any amber appears.
