Top or lollipop auto flower

I’ve topped autos before with decent results, but only super early, like right after the fourth node, and only if the plant is growing fast. If it seems a bit slow, I’d just go light with a lollipop. I was reading an article in the index about UK cultivation rules, and it reminded me how timing and structure really matter, so I try to keep stress low on autos.

I topped my last auto, it stunted the growth considerably. Maxed-out at about 12" top to bottom when it should have been about 3ft. Produced some thick buds though.
If i'd read he spiel from the seed co. it did say 'don't top this strain'. Didn't see that until after i'd done it.
