Economics of dope: World take note

There I was, buying something that ain't had no dope in it. Damned thing cost double digit percentage more than it did last time.
Got to looking around and counting on my fingers and toes when I realized the only good or service that is not costing more than last year or the year before, or even since dope went state legal, is dope! Wait for sales day and you can even pay less than advertised price and earn 'points' against future purchases. Even now, I know I can go get brick weed for the same price I got it for nigh on 40 years ago. I think hard drugs are the same, but I ain't sure because I ain't into hard drugs. You shouldn't be, too! Don't make me waggle my finger at you.
So, what the fuck, world of economics and goods production people? Why has the price of dope stayed the same over 40+ years, but every goddamn other thing has gotten more 'spensive? Do we need to put together some sort of bread and cheese cartels that will keep prices down? A mayonnaise mafia? Maybe el Chapo can earn some credit for teaching supply and production master classes on Youtube? Maybe Carlos Lehder would be down with transportation help?

Where I live weed is just as expensive from the local weed folk as going to the dispensary. It's crazy.

I can get an eighth for $10 or $60 at the dispensary. $50 in the neighborhood. It's about quality. I've always enjoyed neighborhood quality but also enjoy having the options of a dispensary.
In my area, the only reason people still buy from 'dude' is they don't have ID to get into a dispensary or are paranoid law is watching who goes.

I couldn’t tell you if a oz of weed cost $20, $200 or $2000 dollars now. IMO anybody who’s still paying for it isn’t too concerned about prices. Too easy to grow your own at home

I have no idea what weed sells for in a dispo or on the street. It is just supply and demand and right now supply has outstripped demand. Anyone with a few resources can grow their own and even have a surplus. If you could grow chemo out in the barn the price of that would plummet also.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.
