    Perpetual grow theory

Perpetual grow theory. I live in Ohio and have a 12 plant limit per household.

If I were to start 4 autos, 4 indica, and 4 sativa, would this allow me to harvest every couple months? I would harvest the 4 autos, and start 4 more while the indica and sativa finish. I would choose fast finish indica and slow finish sativa plants in a perfect world.

Pros and cons of the plan or is it not feasible?

It's feasible. I'm not sure if it meets the definition of perpetual or not but I don't think it will matter. I have a 4x4 and a 2x4 tent. I use the 4x4 for photo sensitive plants and the 2x4 for autos. The autos keep me in weed and the 4x4 is for growing strains that are a bit more exotic, at least to me. The auto tent should produce a harvest about every 90 days give or take. I like growing 100% sativa's or near that in the big tent and they take a long time to flower, so it works out. The only downtime is harvest timing. Sometimes both tents are harvested at the same time. That causes a slight delay to dry the weed in the tents.

When both tents are going it can be a bit of a chore to keep up with the growth. There's that to consider, but that depends a lot on the grow method and how well you want to care for your plants. How will you train your plants, if at all? Depending on the size of your grow space(s) will you be able to reach all of them? Will the grow space be too crowded?

It's a good problem but what are you going to do with all of that weed?

Perpetual grow not necessarily perpetual harvest. I make the distinction because that is the goal. I don't want to harvest 12 plants at a time. Just 4. Hoping that using indica in the middle will give several weeks before the sativa are ready. I am sure it won't work out like that every time. Also hope to harvest 2 sets of autos to every set of photos. The weed would be mainly for my wife and I and for edibles. Of course we would share with family and friends on occasion.

        Hi, Madman.
Like golfnrl posted, "What are you going to do with all that weed?" You will have way more than you can use! Been there. Am there.
But it is fun to grow.

I have experimented with multiple ways of staggering harvests and can grow 12 months a year, outside, with my polytunnel greenhouse (live in AZ desert). I have never grown indoors.

Try growing outdoors for 2026, if you can do so following OH home cultivation laws. Good soil prep is essential. Pick some high yield photos and autos. I have two 8' photos finishing right now with big, glistening buds that will yield at least a couple pounds of 30% THC per plant. Super easy to take care of. You can put some autos out to finish before your photos. Plenty of bud to make pre-rolls, hash, RSO for edibles and gifts to friends. I have two goals: 1) lots of great bud, 2) as easy as possible.

        Good luck!

I grew outside this year. 6 plants in 1 gallon containers. Check my post where i started, where i am. Aiming for 4 auto harvests per year and 4 photo harvests per year. I have space indoors for the cold weather. My wife is a very heavy smoker. Not sure if that will change growing at home. Never hurts to grow extra in case of catastrophic grow issues. They also say longer cure makes better smoke. I mix my own soil. I will post it eventually. That's what I used in my current grow.
