    Killing pollen

Got curious in another thread about what to do with nanners and their pollen.
Let's say you have more than a handful pop up. More than are easy enough to snip out of a bud and in awkward places to reach.
Is there something innocuous that can be dabbed on the nanners that will kill the pollen before or after it opens?

Read something about that, too, but I thought it was more about keeping the pollen from blowing around.

Once you see a nanner, you’ve had nanners for a while and you already have pollination.

if you only find a couple seeds, you most likely will have feminized and should grow them out, If you have seed filled buds you’ve got a genetic cesspool of hermi seeds.

spray with water to keep it from spreading, pick off what you can and Sally forth.

If you’re seeing more than just a stray nanner or two, it gets tricky. Once they open, pollen spreads super easy and even a tiny bit can seed a bunch of buds. There isn’t really a magic “pollen killer” you can dab on without risking damage to the flowers.

Some growers carefully pluck them with tweezers and a steady hand, but if they’re in tough spots or there’s a lot, that’s not practical. A light mist of plain water will neutralize pollen on contact, so if you catch one that’s already opened, spray the area right away. Just don’t soak the whole bud all the time or you risk mold.

If the plant’s throwing nanners everywhere, most folks either isolate it or chop early depending on how far along she is. A few can be managed, but once they start popping all over, it usually means the genetics or stress response is strong and they’ll keep showing up.

Bottom line, water can kill pollen after the fact, but there’s nothing safe you can paint on the nanners to stop them before they open. Best bet is stay on top of them daily and decide if the smoke is worth the hassle.

That makes sense, my reason for neutralizing pollen has always been after I am done harvesting a pollinated plant. I may not want it in the wood pile for the next breeding
