PigSquishy I just double checked my post above, was going to edit it to remove a link, but turns out I accidentally never put it in, in the first place. And Onfine2009 got a lot of heat from me because he wasn't the only EBay seller I bought from that day. I bought 5 cameras from two, and not listing the other, because the other has high ratings in the 300k's and is a HUGE scammer. But because of that guy, I ended up taking it out on Onfine2009 and even though he wasn't at fault for the other guys actions, he did lie a lot which was the result of it. What I will say, if you do buy on eBay, do not every trust a seller Worldokit. It started when I was doing this post and ordering cameras. The first seller I bought 5 cameras from was Worldokit. He advertised he was from CA, the item was in CA, so figured it be the fastest to buy from a seller in CA. Not to be confused with drop shipping, this entire incident is not related to drop shippers. After I bought from Worldokit, I got an email that Onfine2009 did a temporary price drop. His cameras as cheap as they are, are actually really good quality and easy to set up too. Since I never bought from Onfine2009, I only bought 5 more cameras at $14 each. Plus $2.75 shipping. Wish I had bought more because their back at $24.58 plus S&H. Anyway, two days go by and I had already gotten an email saying my order had shipped. It was looking at my purchases that made me see my purchase from Worldokit showing my order will be here by March 16th. When I saw this, I took a snapshot because I could have sworn it was supposed to be here the 14th. I check the tracking and that's when I started getting worried. A label was printed, but nothing shipped, so each day, the date would change of when I would get my item, but that wasn't the part that had me worried, it was the fact that the item was supposed to be coming from California, and the shipping location the label came from was New Jersey. I did some more research and found out the seller was in fact not from CA, not even from NJ, he was from China. That was enough to get my attention. Looking at the negatives, got me immediately posting a dispute with PayPal to get a hold on the funds. A lot of negatives were from customers who either never got their order at all, or ones that did get something, was absolutely not even related to the order. And this seemed to be any order over $100. Also, every message I sent this guy was never returned until PayPal put a hold on the funds, then he replied. Everyone who ripped off stated that he would offer a 50% refund or 80% refund due to restocking fee. How on earth can someone charge a restocking fee when they never shipped to begin with? I told the guy to cancel the order since he hasn't shipped it yet and if he tries shipping now, I'm going to refuse it. So what does he do, he ships it. I know this because I get an update email telling me my item is on the way with a date of March 28th now. I contact him again and tell him, you were told not to ship, you did it anyway, both PayPal and EBay see the promised date of March 14th, and say because the installers will be here for my other cameras on the 18th, I wont need them. I had no installers, Was just using it as an excuse as I didn't trust the guy at all now. He responds and tells me to refuse the order and hell refund me 50% once he gets his items back. PayPal already promised me they'll refund my money the moment the system updates and shows I refused the shipment. Worldokit contacts FedEx and upgrades the shipping without telling me so the date now changes to the 18th. He also messages me and tells me hell refund 20% if I accept the order, or only refund 80% if I refuse it. I remind him PayPal will refund it all when refuse it. I also call FedEx three times to make sure now that they don't come to my home and they assure me the package is being refused, yet each day I see it coming closer to my home with a delivery date of the 18th. Normally FedEx has no issue on refusing an order, unless for some reason, they aren't able to send it back, which then it hit me (DBS which is Dead Box Scam) This is when a foreign shipper deliberately makes it impossible to refuse a package, or even to return it using our own tracking and banking systems against us. Had I opened the shipment and it had a dead cat so to speak, as long as the tracking showed a successful delivery, many banks will not do a chargeback. And with no address to send it back to, you cant even prove a attempted return. Or worse, a cheap postage from China, like $1,50 from China to the USA, will be over $100 to send back. I changed everything on my schedule to make sure I was at my home for Saturday the 18th, which shocked the heck out of me when my mail carrier came with the box FedEx was supposed to be delivering Friday the 17th. But now it gets more interesting. The box is only 8x8x8. There is no way that box could hole 5 cameras, maybe 1 at tops, 2 if taken out of their boxes. I tell the mailman I'm refusing it so he goes to scan the refusal and his digital notepad scanner beeps an error. The return address shows up as invalid. Why didn't it warn USPS when they took it from FedEx? So I grab my smart phone and take a picture of the tag showing the return address. Here is a link to where it said it came from and where it should have gone had there been a real building there. http://www.bing.com/maps?&ty=18&q=20...h&trfc=&lvl=19
Only building nearby is DHL, and after a lot of work found out their a supply building for the rest of their network, so obviously wont be holding things to drop ship. The box also seems too heavy for its size, especially when if its supposed to have 5 cameras in it (unless its a TARDIS where its bigger on the inside then out. If you don't know doctor who, you wont get this) My mailman shook the box which is when we can hear broken glass inside, almost as if a bunch of heavy glass beer bottles was in it. Even if all 5 camera lenses were in that box and shattered, it would never have made that sound. Anyway, the mailman takes it back and the tracking number goes from out for delivery, to Refused. PayPal refunds me instantly the full 100% and I message the seller "Nice try. Next time you try ripping someone off, lay off the sake, and don't box the bottles up. Go contact the USPS to get your stuff back, in case you have anything of importance in there because I got my money back already" That ended up getting me several more messages of "Sign this agreement, well give you full 100% when we get our stuff back" Stuff? Now I know he has no clue what was sent. I got two more from him until I told him I have my money stop pestering me. Got to give this idiot credit, he doesn't stop trying. He even sent me two more emails trying to make it look like they came from EBay and PayPal telling me to click links to guarantee I get refunded, but not to my bank account. Most likely something that would key log my PW info and try taking more money. I forwarded those to EBay and PayPal The first one he sent, didn't even have my name in it but he corrected it on the second, and omg, his vocabulary and English was horrible. I'm US born, and I'm bad with spelling, this guy was worse.
With most of this happening on Friday, it was then it hit me that my other order for Cameras should have gotten to me by now so check on the one from Onfine2009. My heart dropped right then and there as he too was supposed to be in CA, and so was the item. Guess where the tracking starts? NEW JERSEY!!!. I'm like, no, please don't tell me this is the same idiot using another account and me being an even bigger idiot for falling for it. I call PayPal exec office to let them know, who verifies as well this seller too is from China, and immediately put the purchase into dispute holding the funds. I'm furious now and contact Onfine2009 asking him who the heck he is putting false info and that the funds are now on hold. His only reply is "Sorry, if you don't trust me, refuse the package. Ill refund you the moment I see its refused" I mean, what are the chances of the same exact thing happening with what I am assuming are two different sellers. Saturday comes, and my mailman comes up to me with a 2 foot, by 1 foot package, 8 inches thick. This one isn't actually a box, its all the boxes shrink-wrapped together and I see 6, not 5, but I can also see its the same boxes Amazon sent me as I can see through the grey shrink-wrap. I call PayPal who tells me if the mailman will witness it, they'll take my word if the items are in fact a fake or something else. Most mailmen or shippers wont even do that. He sticks around and I open the wrapping. Inside the first is a Camera, and looks as good as the ones from Amazon. PayPal tells me if anything is wrong, call them back immediately. My mailman leaves, I check the other 5 wondering which one is an empty that they most obviously used as a Spacer. Turns out they sent me 6 for the price of 5. I test them all out, they work perfectly. I log into PayPal, and take the dispute off, but not before telling the seller I'll buy again if he puts them on sale, and to please use real info next time. He never replied. I just got my two outdoor cameras, now have a tent and camera system to put up. Oh wait, no I don't. Amazon sent me the wrong Power Supply box again, and worse, UPS left it on the walkway instead of the doorway and its been pouring out =( One more call to make.

Yes, oh yes... I can relate to your story all too well myself... Do you know why today I spend so much time researching a company and a product before I buy it and why I am only willing to speak of a company in regards to the personal experiences I've had with them is because of this very reasoning you bring out. Anyone can get on Ebay or Amazon... I got nailed once for $100 on Amazon for FREE Shipping... and because it was a "3rd party seller" Amazon let them do it... So now do I really care if I pay an extra $2+ to a company like Harbor Freight Tools for their security camera's and DVR setup, I get a warranty if it doesn't work or breaks within that period of time they actually warrenty it in the store or through the online mail order; a lot of companies even pay for the shipping back to them. When I am going to buy something now I call the company to talk to them first; thanks to an old piece of PC equipment I once bought at Walmart I learned an important lesson on that one once when I got home and the equipment didn't just plug and play as it was suppose to so I called the number costing $4.99 per a minute you pay to talk to someone to tell you the product is broken, you need to send it into us to fix and yes you have to pay the shipping back to us. Now before I buy a company's product(s) I call and I want to speak to someone and find out what kind of a company I am going to be stuck dealing with if I have a problem with their product? I'll tell you it is some of the best research I've ever done, I find all kinds of personal things out about a company and it makes a big difference when a company says they don't care if your product was a month past warranty if it breaks they will replace it because they believe in their product should last longer than that.

Sometimes saving a few $$$ really isn't worth it for the hassles you get in return for it... hence why I will now stick to companies with real people who are really on the other end of a phone to answer my calls if and when I have a problem with their products.

That reminds me. The one thing that I like about Amazon is the fact they dont just put up good reviews. They also put up the negative even if the reviewer bought the item from someone else. It saved me more heart ache. The saying you get what you pay for, doesnt always apply to everyrhing. I was about to buy 3 $275 outdoor moterozed cameras that stated they go 60 meters. 56 IR leds, was like a souped up sports car. It was then I saw over 100 reviews and 2 stars. 75% were in the 1 and 2 star locations. So read up and glad I did. Almost every single buyer complained they bought the cameras new yet inside many units had repair stickers on them plus Amazon had told the buyers there were no returns on that item allowed. One thing I learned while researching is even the cheap cameras were great. The reason for the crappy pictures was the fact people plugged in cheap micro sd cards. Thats the same thing as the old days of buying the cheapest vcr tape and trying to cram important movies in 6 or 8 hour mode. With cheap micro sd cards not only do they corrupt fast, especially when re recording over them their like computer ram. Buy cheap its going to read and write slow and the camera wont be able to keep up. As fpr these expensive cameras, people who got working ones were lucky to see even 8 meters ahead. I tested mine so know they work with $20 micro sd cards I got. I just need a proper power supply box that Amazon keeps screwing up.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, when I say "I research a product before I buy it" I am actually pretty hardcore serious about it, and I don't just mean Amazon reviews, I really call up a company and find someone who will be honest with me and I am honest with them and say "this is what I want your product for, this is what I expect it to do, I want you to tell me honestly if this model and product by you is really going to perform to these standards?". You would be surprised by what you can honestly learn from a company and its people, I've been told not to go with this more expensive model, buy this cheaper one instead it performs better or even go over to our competitor their stuff is way better. Like I said to you earlier I call people and I look for that person who wants to be my friend and I then I just get right to the point honestly and start asking questions I have planned out ahead of time, keeping the conversation 100% honest and blunt. Nobody likes to be lied to, and nobody likes to get their time wasted... most of these people deal with upset people all day, call happy, friendly, ready to talk about their product and hear the truth, believe me these are the people who hear it all and can have plenty to say about it if you are willing to listen to them.

Sure I will check Amazon, and other online places to see what others are saying about a product, so you can have good questions for the rep you speak with, if that one rep doesn't know... move onto the next question, if you really want the answer call again later on and find another rep to ask who is willing to help you. You have to understand a serious rep at a company will go out to the warehouse and measure their product or find the answer to your question if you want to know it, if it means they sell you their product, and enough company reps will do it for you if you are friendly, polite and ask nicely. By the time I actually spend the money to get the product I know everything I need to know about it, Seriously unless you are rich or a party animal, who can't make a list of important questions about a product they want to buy, then go get those answers from the company or rep trying to sell it to you, good companies want to make you a happy customer so you can spend some time get the product(s) you want to perform to your expectations the easy way.... Or you can buy what you think might work, the cheapest possible, have it not work, be out the money, call and fight with everyone and in the end... you always come out loosing... I'm telling you honestly I get free stuff all the time from companies just for calling them and talking to them about their products... it's worth the time it takes to research it.

PigSquishy Im going over the entire security system and discovered a flaw. Unlike the alarm system that has a battery backup and its own cell service my camera system has a flaw. It has a ups in case power is cut and cloud service should the thiefs seal the server and cameras, but the one thing I didnt think of is what if they cut the dataline? No data line means the cloud cant store video footage. Is there a low cost cell cloud service for cctv cameras?

How you can get around the issue of someone trying to tamper with the footage, drill a hole through a wall/floor and run the cables inside the walls and floors to another location, where the data storage device is then secured, can can take it apart and drill it to the floor, buy or make some cable straps to hold it down with straight headed screw and then round off the center depth point where you use a screwdriver to grab the screw. If you are uploading the footage even to a Google Drive the data is uploaded either in real time or on a dely, either way the footage should still remain there... if you really care you can get a system installed for a "basic system" for usually $99 a month with monitoring from a company. Really at the end of the day all it matters is you catch them on camera, if they don't know it they don't look for it and if they do find it how long will it take to pry it out of the floor or whatever to get away with it along with the loot before you or someone comes home to catch them.

But seriously if you do a system right in the first place, nobody knows you have a system in place, hence you don't want them to know so they don't take steps to disarm it or be prepared for it. Thus you capture their faces and hear them talking and calling each other by name and laughing it up while they are robbing you blind, because later a jury will just love listening to it all caught on tape. Same goes for an alarm system do you want it to wake the neighbors get people to look outside and scare the thief off or alert you they are outside your backdoor right now and give you time to call 911 to come catch them in the act? No matter how you set up your system, you have to decide on the basics first... how much evidence are you trying to collect and how clear of quality do you want? There is an issue right now with a grainy video recording of a problem which happened at night, where and I quote "NOT EVERYTHING WAS CAPTURED ON THE GRAINY VIDEO RECORDING". Now had that been a good quality system, there would not have been any question and "grainy" wouldn't even be an issue for lawyers and jurors to later have to watch and try to decide on what they think might have happened that night in question. So really if you have a poor image quality, a grainy image, etc... another question you said before when looking for your camera's you caught a neighbor's camera instead, an unsecured network could be used again you by thieves if they found it while sitting over at a friends house near you.

Perhaps the best thing to do would be to do a bit of reading on "basic security" for you person, your electronic devices and your home, because seriously in today's world nobody is safe. When the founder of Facebook is seen in a random photo with his mic and his own PC camera with tape (blacked out) on them to cause interference from people breaking through his security layers, what does that really say about yours? You wouldn't believe what someone can do if they just got your wallet and the information inside of that, someone being inside your home can gain access to everything and that means more than you could possibly know until you later find out. Identity thieves for example can do a door to door scam, see your mail laying on a table inside the door and with that alone steal your identity because that alone gave them everything they needed. All in all its a lot cheaper to be educated now by doing some research to protect yourself than it is to become a further victim later on and seriously lose everything. It is not unheard of for people to lose their house, property, etc... because of identity theft, and while this person only broke in and stole a phone and whatever else, they returned and you don't know who is buying what they steal or what they or the next person is going to do with it, because even the FBI will tell you bank robberies are down, because kids are sitting in living rooms robbing more money online than guys did in the banks and leaving virtually no trace thanks to identity theft a growing trend. Just saying I know to take security 100% extremely seriously, because people have lost their jobs over a low credit score, one place I lived, you couldn't find an apartment if you didn't have a certain credit score seriously NOBODY would rent to you! The world is changing and so is the importance of keeping your personal information safe at all levels.

Amazon actually did a recall because of my feedback. Out of the 13 cameras I bought, the 3 outdoor bullets that actually had QC stickers on them actually were never tested. I was going nuts trying to figure out why the bloody things would not pick up, with its own program on cell or pc version. I even bought blue iris which is actually made by my friend who made the BBS CNET for the c64 and amiga systems back in the 80s and 90s. It was finally when I went to Best Buy and saw the same model, that I realized what was wrong. There was no CCID sticker on any of mine, yet the demo at BB had one. So i ran a diagnostic and sure enough, discovered there was no CCID. Thats the number assigned to the camera that makes it its own, its name. Similar to an EID for cell phones. Anyway, both cameras from different manufactures obviously came from same place and the company just slapped their logo on it. Amazon checked out my feedback, and wrote me back thanking me as they recalled both models after verifying. Which bring it down to needing external cameras lol. I also made some big changes, including but not limited to should any of the cameras cables get cut, it will immidiately set off the alarm which uses cell phone card. The cable I bought has 4 conductors and I purposely got the type where all the shielding for each conductor is the same color which means when I go to hook them all up, will have to meter them out ahead of time and put labels on until I'm done and verify all is working fine. The Cameras are WIFI so the cables only carry current to power them and each one has a relay on it. Power gets cut off, a line gets cut, they will switch on immediately =) Now to make a new post on my plants =(

PigSquishy got to contact NebulaHaze . I had a problem accessing my own post and had to find a work around in order to reply. if a mod had put a block on to stop further posts, I wouldnt bother to try doing what I just did to post this message. Anyway, when I click my new messages tab and cick my own post, I get the "I am not orthorized to access this content" message, which usually happens if 1)Mod blocks it from further viewing, requires higher access to view/post/respond to it, or deleted it. As none of those things were done, its a bug that snuck in. Again, I would NEVER overstep any block a mod puts in. I just use tricks to get to my posts if they get bugged and wanted our best Mod to see the error for herself, because if I cant access my own post normaly, Im sure its the same problem for others too?
Anyway, to get back on topic on my offtopic post lol, I had an extremely horrible sitution which took me from getting back to everyone here yesterday. I had another break in 3am yesterday, or I should say an attempted one and these people trying to get in, ment business. They didnt care anyone was home and went out of their way to kill power and cut internet/phone lines. Had I not been up with my daughter at that time, you most likely would have ended up reading of a home invasion, and whats scary about this is last year something similar happened not to far away and the family was killed after forcing one to use ATM while other held family hostage.
Anyway, what hapened yesterday was this. My daughter whose going to be 12 soon, hit puberty at 8 and a half years old. I feel really bad because like everyone who has gone through this in life, most it had taken years for those changes to happen. Most of them happened in under 3 weeks and was extrememly painful for my daughter. One thing that hasnt changed, is that montly issue many have to endure, well it causes my daughter to get high fevers and causes a lot of vomiting. I was woken up at 2:30am to this and after changing bedding and giving my daughter anti-neusea medication which takes 30 minutes to take effect, she asked me if she coud use my server till the meds kicked in. I had put her on restrictions for the week for some misbehavior and had locked her out of her own pc, but because her 2nd report card came with all A+ the day before, which to me is awsome as I never had grades like that my first year of Junior High when I was a kid, so letting her use my PC for 30 minutes, I felt was fine.
While my daughter tried using my pc, the internet went down so I checked the modem and router and saw the all to faithful red flashing light and assumed the modem must have lost connection when my provider did a reset like they always do every night, so I reset the modem, and still no internet. It was only a moment, when power went off as well. Again I assumed it was something normal, and grab one of the many emergency lighting systems that also double up as a flash light too. My daughter tries helping me by saving my work and shutting down the PC before the UPS make the decision for me at the wrong time. I had both my power chair and my wifes against the back door charging and use one as a computer chair which my daughter was sitting in at that very moment.
Were both talking while at the same time trying to find PGE to call and see whats going on. I notice through the kitchen window that a lot of houses and street lamps are still on so think maybe its something at my home. I wasnt that far off. My daughter decides she wants to show me some art work while Im still trying to find PGE just in case when we both hear a loud crack from the back door. Sounded like a chunk of wood and metal getting torn out. Then the next thing more frightening happens. Had my daughter been sitting in that chair instead of bending over at the keyboard, she could have been killed right then on the spot. A sharp piece of metal suddenly shoots out between the door and the cam and just barely misses my daughters head, then vanishes. I grab her fast and yank her to the floor before it can happen again and the curses that came out of her mouth that very moment, was exactly what I had in mind but was trying my best not to say around her. Besides, she had said enough of them those few seconds to make up plenty for what I didnt say, (YET). I now know whats going on and quickly dial 911 while quickly getting the rest of the family up and making sure their safe as well, and only matter of seconds, were all armed and police on their way. I was about to send everyone through the other door when my daughter yells at me to stop. She noticed something I had not.. While someone was trying to tear the back door open, which good luck on that, as two power chairs weigh a little over 1000 pounds, that door unless broken into splinters, is going no where. Anyway, she points through the window which I told her severl times to stay away from and see now why she yelled. There was someone crouched down at my front door. I'm talking to police dispatch breathing heavily, explaining whats going on, and my daughter is the one with the cool head, again. I had to explain were armed, mostly because the last thing I need to to get shot, or my kids get shot from an officer thinking were one of the bd guys, My wife is in tears, my son, just tells me to wake him when its over thinking hes going to take a nap. My daughter hits him in the shoulder to keep him awake. We all hear a crash from my back yard and several moments later the police are here. Two people had jumped the fence and were not caught, but at least they know what they look like as everyone elses cameras got their faces, which I was already cursing myself about because mine are still not up due to waiting on the external ones. The PD was nice and came around a few times to make sure all is ok. Dispatch told me on the phone to put all weapons away. Not all in this order. Im shaking while Im typing this out this very moment and its been almost 24 hours just thinking about it. The long piece of metal that almost pierced my daughters head turns out to be a piece of sheet metal torn off the corner of my house that the robbers tried using to pop the door handle cam. BTW, I have now moved a lot of furnature far from any door or window. To think, had my daughter not been sick, they could have broken in and possibly killed my family. As I mentioned earlier, a family not far from my home last year was murdered. I believe the guy hiding at my front door was going to try jumping us the moment the door opened. There has been a lot of thefts were a home invasion thats taken place involved one or more watching over the family threatening to hurt or kill, while another accompanies another to ATms to get as much cash as they can and in the end go or kills the family. I know im most likely leaving a lot out. Ill edit my post later if I remember anything important. Im up now just in case.

Perhaps a new neighborhood is in order? Or I guess you could add Pit Bull all night security. Nothing comforts like a patrolling home Pit Bull! (you sleep like a baby!)
