    Close call cheap power board.

Aged a few years this morning, went to check room to find it dark, 8°c and dripping with humidity.
Power board that ran the light and heaters burnt out overnight. Cheap power board cheap extension lead lesson learnt. I plugged temp control into new heavy duty power board and the light into a power box with RCD safety switch.
According to my timer it was out for about 3 hours so hopefully the girls won't suffer to much...... ??

It's a good thing that you didn't burn your house down.

You found a week link, groovy. I don't think his garden is close to the house. Camp out in there a few times and you will find a few more.

First thing an electrician is taught is to not let the smoke out of the wires.

Once the magic smoke is gone its done for.
Good things is there was not a fire to burn down your home.

Yes it was lucky, and has caused a little paranoia. Ive checked everything about 10 times since, making sure nothing is feeling too hot. I'm starting to think with the extra humidifier running that moisture got into a spare port on the power board causing it to short but what ever it was wasn't good.
          Onwards and upwards.

Pop said if you're doing your best and ask to do better, tell them to do it themselves or piss up a rope. Their choice
