New at this, I'm growing autoflowers. 1 Northern lights and the other is acapulco gold. Planted seeds March 28th. My question is trimming up some of the leaves without buds, do I need to and if so, when? Here they are. 2x4 grow tent now, originally in a 2x2 but they outgrew it so I bought a bigger tent. It was a kit so I'm not sure exactly of the light set up. MARSHYDRO is what I went with. Anything I should be concerned with?

They look good. They are getting ready to finish, as they do the leaves will start to fade. I would only take leaves that were needed to ensure good air flow around the plant. Try spreading out the branches to improve light penetration. Next time around try some LST. They must be smelling dank by now.Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Pluck those massive fan leaves. They’re not needed as much this far into flowering and they block a lot of light to the inner plant/bud areas.
I would start with a good plan to defoliate:
1) Look at the plant from all sides and evaluate leaf size.
2) Pluck away the largest fan leaves and ONLY the largest.
3) re-evaluate the next size of leaf. Are they blocking light bud site? If yes…remove them.
4) do not deviate from the plan…it’s too easy to get carried away and defol way too much.
after doing the defol at this stage the plant will focus more on moving energy to and from the sugar leaves. There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)
