    General Qs

Hi all, so I’m on my third grow but been very sloppy on this one, lost track of how many weeks I’m into flower as I’ve been very busy with other things. It’s looking good, plants are falling over with weight so will be sorting that out today, few questions…

if the plant still looks pretty healthy, should I keep it going longer? Trichomes are white no ambers.

This is a 2x4 tent with 300w Mars hydro lighting, 3 plants grown in 70/30 coco coir/perlite. Bio bizz grow/bloom/cal mag. Only thing I am doing is defoliating once in veg and once in flower.

Im thinking about using a CO2 bag for the next grow in this tent, would that be doing more harm than good? Next lot is blue cheese, been fancying this plant for a while now.

Current grow has its yellow leaf parts but is generally looking pretty healthy but wondering whether to chop it now or keep it going

I wouldn't bother with CO² bags. Waste of money. To use CO² properly you need a fully sealed setup, no air changeover, a CO² bottle, proper regulator with relay and a CO² controller with sensor. You need to run 50% higher light levels and higher temps to get decent growth advantages but higher temps will impact negatively on the quality of your buds...it's not worth it IMHO.

As to when to harvest its up to you. Cloudy is highest THC, amber more CBN, CBD. It's really what effects your looking for and how best to manage your grow/s. You may be able to stagger your harvest, some white, some mixed, some all amber.

If they are healthy I tend to push them a bit and harvest later than earlier.

Edit. Just had a look at your pics. Great job! But from them I'd say you may have a bit to go yet based on pistol development. Trichome color is key though and I cant see them.

Controlling the smell I am struggling with most, open the front door and a wave of smell hits within two seconds. Another Q when I’m here, I’ve ordered some Ona blocks, they aren’t as great as I’ve read tbh but I only tried a small one to see what they were like. I kept outside the tent only because I read that it can affect the taste of the buds. Running a 6 inch cloudline T4 exhaust fan but it still seems to stink the house out

I don't know what an Ona block is. You won't get any advantage using CO² with your current setup.

Sealing a room to eliminate smell is very difficult. I have a sealed room but I can smell it quite some distance from my house. It is strong. I'm not running a carbon filter though

Stick a carbon filter on your tent extraction fan and run it at a minimum.speed to maintain negative pressure. You must always maintain negative pressure. That should work. Keep RH right down to make your filter last. Only use it in flower.

Buy a carbon filter for your exhaust

Bluey Ona blocks are like Oder neutralising products, different scents like fresh linen etc. Only tried one tho. I’ve been running my exhaust on high speed (level 8) that could be part of it I will try a lower setting and report back, RH is running 50-55%. You can get big buckets of the Ona products but I’m told these are so strong that it effects the buds

How many grows old is your filter? High RH will destroy them in short time also. It might have used up its useful life.

        It's done for sure

I disagree about the filter. Mine is most likely has at least six grows on it in high humidity six months a year and is still going strong.

From what I understand, run your fan at a slower speed to allow the filter more time to remove the smell.

I’ve used my 4” filter for 3 years/6 grows. I always store it in a plastic bag between grows and I only use it when the stink sets in, so not until a few weeks into flower. It was still working at the end of the last run so I’m planning on using it again.

My 6” filter has been through 2.5years/5 grows and it is stored the same way. It was struggling a bit at the end of my last run but I also had some stanky Going2fast crosses going. The tent with the 6” is more of my “main” set up and tends to go longer so likely taking more abuse.

Both filters are ac infinity, and well worth the money. If your filter won’t clear it after turning the speed down, I’d replace it.

My 2 cents on harvesting… Id try to hold out for another week (or possibly longer) if you can. I think it’ll be good smoke even if you have to harvest now though.

        Best of luck!!!

As usual golden advice from here. I will def run it at a lower speed. Think I will give these ladies another week and see how they are looking then
