RSO from buds with some rot

Does anyone have any evidence to share about using some buds with a little bud rot to make RSO using Rick Simpsons recipe and 99% isopropyl alcohol? Thinking the alcohol could kill any fungus and still get the resin for making edibles.

No I would'nt think bud rot would have anything useful at all.

I've done it many times. The alcohol only dissolves the resin and kills the spores. No issue at all

Haha nah for real. The alcohol sterilize everything and only dissolves liposoluble molecules. Then when you filter everything else stays behind, only what's dissolved in the alcohol goes thru

Would you eat food that was rotten and moldy? Rotten apple, make sauce so it can't be seen, it will be fine.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

I've smoked moldy bud plenty of times, I know many who have. I know not one person who has had adverse health effects as a result, but it can and does kill people who have compromised immune systems and other co-morbidity issues, therefore, it is not recommended to do so.

Almost any treatment, even a quick boiling of the bud, would kill the mold and render it totally harmless.

Edit. If mold spores were as deadly as some make out we'd be dropping dead like flies. Almost every breath you take will have at least one mold spore present, often 100's.

Thanks for all the responses. I have about a pound that has browned buds but no noticeable mold. Need to use my lenses to get a closer look. Grew outside here in Midwest and hearing from others they have same outdoor issues. Again, appreciate all candid feedback. Love this forum. Been on 3 years and never disappoints. Recommend to all my grow buddies.
