Depends if you want buds the size of a jellybean or a marshmellow

Soil grower with coco/perlite mixed in
    indoor/outdoor grower
    1 36"x36"x66" tent- Viparspectra P2500
1 3x3x6 tent- used in late spring for seedlings both veggies & weed. I have 2 viparspectar 450r for that tent.
    I use a t-5 & 54watt CFL for seedlings
Sometimes i use plastic sometimes i use fabric grow containers
Currently using fish/guano during veg growth & FF Grow Big 6-4-4 teens to bloom. Once i see pre-flower i switch to

Me, personally, I like lots of buds. You might consider a little defoliation to enable better light pentation and remove any tiny buds near the base that will never develop into anything.
Current Grow: 1 GG4, 2 Hot Cakes, 1 Sweet Gelato Autos
      3 gallon cloth pots
      30"x30"x60" tent
      Spider Farmer SE3000
      Coco Pearlite mix
      GH Trio, Silica, Cal-Mag

OMG, thanks for your useful suggestions. Base buds are long gone and I defoliate frequently to remove leaves that are blocking light. Perhaps I need to use a heavier hand. This strain is a first for me so I wasn't expecting such growth.
Fimmed in Wk2 and applied continuous LST until I nearly ran out of tie down spots.
Will smaller buds result in lower potency? Thanks.

Smaller buds does not mean lower potency in my view. It's more the stems that are weaker that i remove i've never had that many budsites on a plant as you do. Outdoor or indoor i remove stems on the lower portion that won't produce well an take away energy that can be used by the stronger branches making those larger colas. Some strains don't create large long colas but have rock hard marshmellow size buds instead. I see many small buds at dispensaries selling for $$ a gram. Very stoney stuff.

I think you're all good, it's only too many bud sites if it impedes your ability to maintain a good atmosphere. But then I suppose it depends what your goal is, the plant can only grow as big as the pot it's in allows it to. It will disperse it's resources between the available bud sites, so if the rootball has maxed out the pot then the more sites you have the smaller the buds will be.
So it's a bit of a trade-off on whether you want big photogenic colas or not. But as SoOrbudgal said, the strain plays a huge part in that too.
I ScroG mine and have a fair amount of sites in my canopy, but making sure I have moving air above, through and under the canopy and haven't had any overcrowding issues. I personally like having smaller colas because it lowers the risk of bud rot.
        2.5x2.5x6' tent
        2x 55w COB veg, 400w HPS flower
Coco/perlite with mycorrhizal mix in fabric bags
2-part base nutes + veg/bloom boosts, bud boost, calmag
Carbon filter/exhaust, 6" oscillating fan, usb static fan
Gear and controllers for heat/humitidy used as needed

        Strain unknown
