HELP! Watering during flowering? and your experience on when to harvest.

I am first time grower so first time harvester.
    • Flower week 10 3 plants in 2- 7 gal fabric & 1- 5 gal fabric pots
    • Having 3 plants in a 2 x 4 tent was the first lesson I learned. Bad idea.
    • They are photo period regular seeds hybrid Jaba OG x Pachamama

    1) What is the watering regimen for week 10 of the flowering stage as the buds turn cloudy and/or amber.
Dryish? Normal? More on the dry side?

I flushed a week ago and I'm continuing to lightly water daily with pure distilled water. I'm using a probe and my finger to determine the mosture level.
(I'm getting the water from a very clean, large, newish dehumidifier so I have an unlimited amount of distilled water)

    2) The top level colas of all 3 plants are getting solid and trichomes are clouding up. Maybe a few trichomes have gone amber.

When I check for the maturity of the bud I'm naturally looking mostly at the topmost colas. The ones that are lower down are not maturing at the same rate since the light doesn't get down there as well.
So how do you personally pick the balance for the time for harvest?
I've studied the pics of the really good harvest articles on GWE and I realize at some point it's personal preference for what you're looking for in the final product.
My goal is more for the relaxed Indica effect. Both parents of the hybrid are supposedly 70% sativa/30% indica.

Does anyone advise the method of pulling a mature bud off and drying/curing for a test? Seems that by the time you're done with that process the ones left behind may have gone too long.

Thanks for your help and ideas!

I wouldn't water anymore. They are ready to harvest. Enjoy.
I personally harvest as soon as I see amber, because I don't like sleepy weed. My wife on the other hand loves it.

Well you did a very good job with these photo periods. Been a long haul we all been there, most new folks that grow think to harvest early get impatient but you've shown you can wait and you'll get very good results because of it. I've had many that the top colas were ready and bottom parts not so much. Feel free to take off the ripes branches just above the unripe ones leave them and the pot in there keep soil moist and allow those to ripen further won't take long. But i usually like mine more couch lock relaxed so till i see more amber i don't harvest. But you sure can clip some bud dry it and try it. The slow cure sure brings out the flavor and i find the high is better if you can store some away for a month or so. Have fun

The water from a dehumidifier or an AC run off although pure is ionised and has properties that will strip zinc coating from steel in short time..highly corrosive.
make sure you pH it...which is extremely difficult or impossible without specialised equipment. I use pure water and add a small amount of nutes to get an accurate pH reading.
Those buds look exceptional. Well done!

Thanks for your advice. I had never heard that information before. So I tested my pH which came in at 6.8 and also I didn't mention that I add half strength seaweed to the mix.

Howdy OrganicCanna420, I can't give you any advice about the watering as I'm growing with a hydroponic setup. But you've got some GREAT looking buds there! Great job, even for an experienced grower!
