what to look for in the trichomes

Since it's been a while for me (20 years or so) am I looking at the ball part of the trich or the whole trich for the cloudiness and amber? Bought a microscope yesterday and the whole trich is still clear with the hairs turning orange/gold. Have a week and a half to go till the 60th day from the flip. Will try and get some pictures later today. Oh...should the led lights be used on the microscope? I would think it would throw off the color of the trichs?

read the GWE site (forgot about section on harvesting) and using that as a guide, but still wondering if we are looking at the ball or the whole trich?

Yes. Try to look for the older parts of the bud and always on a calyx

man, next week thursday will be the 60 day mark and trichs are still clear. Been reading on how many days for flower and it's all over the place. Some people saying they harvest at 45 days and some saying 70 + days. This is for the green crack strain. I am growing in soil so I'm sure that makes a big difference

Remember that the estimated time to harvest is based on perfect everything. Sometimes we need to add a week or two.
          completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
          environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

Yes. Besides. Even in very stable genetics. Some phenos finish quick and others not so much.
