3 gram wafers from Crucial's alchemy kitchen lab and my new rosin press. I have
such fond memories of my teenage hashish days. I managed 16 grams of kief from
this year's trim harvest. I can't believe I used to just throw all that trim out. I still haven't
cleaned out the tray under my drying basket.

Same question. How did you make the puck? Straight pressure? Hot water? Heated press?

Used the 2 ton heat press at 175 and this aluminum billet mold. It's pretty
bullet proof. Just make sure you put some parchment paper at the top and
bottom. I measured out 3.1 grams of kief and that filled the mold a bit over
      half way.

2 ton press!!?? I used a hand screw press, submerged in 190° water. My pucks had to be broken apart with knives. Yours have to be like porcelain tiles.
The screw press is a through-and-through. When pressing is done, the cap at one end is removed and the screw is further screwed to push out the puck all jake like.

I didn't give it the full 2 tons for fear it would juice it. Your method sounds great.

How much did you fill it before screwing ,,, or do you add more and screw it more, or do you make a few smaller discs? I read the perfect advice on rainforest reviews but it's gone the last time I looked, the product thus the review also. I remember parchment mentioned, must've been for the ends, stickage.

I went with 5 gram pucks.

Very cool but my question is why press it? I smoke my dry ice hash the way it is and it burns soo much better than ice water hash. Keif is the same thing. Does it keep longer or something? I've got 2 year old dry ice hash that will floor you.im Just curious as I see a lot of methods of pressing it.

No other reason than nostalgia. When I was a kid it was easy to hide and 1 or 2 hits was all you needed.

It was a bucket list thing. I've grown my own weed. From that I have produced kief, pressed, dry ice and ice water hash, edibles, and resin. I have further made couch locking infused pre-rolls with weed, resin, and kief. My neighbor unsuccessfully pressed a few buds. If I'm forgetting something, or if someone turns me on to something new, I'll be all over it. Except...
I have no interest in sublingual, or topical applications. I've never been one to smear myself with oil and neither can I buy, nor do I like the smell or taste of high-proof.
Pressing hard on a bottle full of hot water gives my back the willies when I imagine the bottle breaking and slicing off my bottom lip. Temple balls might be out of the picture unless I can figure out an alternative.
My living situation does not allow for a fractional distillation setup I can't afford. The previously mentioned lack of alcohol is also a drawback for distillates.
My retinue of drug processing paraphernalia is complete: bubble bags, kief press, and column. I have grown under t5's, LED, whatever the hell my HLG 360 Elite is, and the sun. I've used two grow mediums, two fertilizers, and a supplement setup when I was without supplement v fertilizer savvy.
I guess that first sentence is the answer you were looking for.

I've seen frenchies videos but never tried the pressing thing. I did notice my ice water hash was a better sleep aid. Wonder if it would keep better that way. I do like the burnt leaves taste now and then.

I used to press my bubble hash into pucks. I thought it would preserve it for a longer period of time. But good hell, you'd damn near need a razor to shave some off to burn.

I wound up using a big kitchen knife. A razor blade hurts my fingers after a few shavings. I have a razor blade holder, but that more shoots flakes off, onto the floor. The knife cuts a nice piece and chops to personal specs.

Warming a chunk over flame will soften it so it crumbles nicely or cuts easily. I used to take a piece, put it in the pipe, light one side, and it would burn like incense from one side to the other.

Here's some dry ice I made a year ago that morphed into a nice burnt orange color. Seems with all that squishing it's just damaging the trichomes. I just keep it in an airtight container at room temperature. Bout to forget what I was saying in 3, 2, 1.......... Click image for larger version
