ID:	560842 Hi everyone, thanks to everyone that helped me work through a couple of problems I had during veg. Started using bottled water to avoid the chlorine and got my PH levels correct.
I’m in the first week of flower and a couple of the girls are getting too tall and too close to the light. I set up something to tie the tops to, but I’m not sure how to do it without damaging the potential buds
Here are a couple of pics
    Thanks in advance

Are they photos? If so you could take cuttings for clones. Or bend her over and tie her down, she'll luv it.

Thanks for the reply, no not autos. I topped them earlier to make them bushy. I’ll try bending them over.
Appreciate the advice ! Thanks 😊

Find a way to pull them down looks crowded way too many plants for a newbie to figure out. That's a greedy grow you got lucky seems they are healthy for a first grow? We'll tell you to find a way in your own space to pull the branches to the sides. Lots of info on proper training LST, SCROG it's here in the GWE tutorials.

Have too many plants. First grow and we didn’t know how many would survive. All but one !! Thanks for the advice, I have read the tutorials, not sure if they should Be turned down or sideways ? The small fence should give me something to tie them to
        Thanks !

That's a nice bunch of plants you've got there Zooter, well done so far. You need to study up on super cropping, and a little time spent on learning about defoliation would do them a world of good.

Thanks@PRIMO ! Out of control is more like it ! A high quality problem I guess. That super cropping is a challenge as it’s my first grow, but I’ll study up on it. At first it looked like a cruel thing to do to a beautiful plant, but maybe a couple to make room

Supercropping isn't that hard. Mistakes can be taped and recover. I did it on my 1st grow, it was headed toward the attic in my closet. The first cola I did was the nicest of all that I harvested. You can drill holes around plastic pots' top edges to loop ties through for tying down. Some growers use safety pins on fabric bags, you loop tie downs through the round 'hole' of the safety pin, positioned on top. Good luck!

Buy a pack of plant ties, bend them over as far as you can and fasten them down with the plant ties. Be sure to leave ties loose around the branch to allow for further growth. Do the same things for the other plants but use large "paper clips" to attach them to the edges of the pots. This will also increase your yield.

Thanks Puglover, we have too many plants as it is so it makes sense to try it in few, hopefully free up some space.
Because it’s so crowded, many of the lower leaves are shadowed. I could start there and see how it goes. Since they’ve in flower, I’m afraid to mess with them too much.
Any suggestions are much appreciated 😉

Are you growing in a closet? What are the dimensions of your grow space? The two taller plants you could tie each of the main branches outward, you'll have to keep adjusting them because the ends will keep seeking the light and growing upwards. It's like you want to grow the top parts at right angles for a while, until the other plants catch up in height. And that also lets more light down into the middle growth. The green twisty ties made for plants won't hurt them, just fashion a little 'hook' and put it around a stem. I'm a visual learner, I had no clue about defol even with a wonderful mentor on here, lots of bottom larf and popcorn but it still gets me high or makes butter. I harvested the tops of 3 plants, let the bottom halves grow a few weeks longer bc they were cheated of light, then I harvested the 3 plants' bottoms. I grew the 3 indica photos in a 2'x5'x8'H closet. I'd suggest reading a few threads of grow journals on here, watch Nebula's tutorials, and then watch YouTube videos tonight, esp about defoliation. Seems many growers do a defol 3 weeks into flower. It's hard to judge your plants' heights, I used to have a hard time getting a side pic because I had a bed behind me. Oh, the clips some growers use to train are called Binder Clips. I bought small ones, wish I'd gone up a size. HTH

Well, it’s a 7.5x7.5’ room. The taller ones are about 36” high. The light manufacturer recommended 36” from the light at most. So I need to do some defoliation and training. I’ve already tied tied down the tallest shoots onto the wood dowels and have them horizontal. Two HLG 600 lights cover the whole room for flower.
Thanks for giving a better understanding on what to do next.

It looked well lit. You have more sq ft than it seemed in the pic. I can't recall ATM at one point many growers strip the bottoms and end up with the candelabra look but just never take off too many big fan leaves.

Sorry, they are 27” high, don’t want them to go to 36”. I’ll take it slow.
                Thanks again 😎
