Starting to plan the next attempt for success. I had a very long grow of autofems! You can look up my name if you need to in order to understand just how screwed up it turned out.
Bad soil, fighting pH, what nutes and when....light schedule [when it turns out to be unnecessary] not enough light....too crowded, etc.
Wanting, after that experience to grow as efficiently as possible.
I had used one 7 gal. and 4-5 gal. grow bags.
The 7 gal. was for a AK47, as suggested.
What would be the difference in using 3-gallon bags instead of 5 gallons????
Upon inspection, after the "harvest" the root systems of those plants were weak, in my opinion.
If the bag is smaller will that push the plant to grow up instead of more root ???
Is there a difference?
I'm thinking of only growing 2 plants instead of 5, getting new AutoFlowering seeds, and finally trying to
decide on the grow medium.
I want what is promised ...4 weeks veg and 4 weeks flower with 18 to 24/7 lighting.
1] a super soil mixture for simplicity......or
2] an AutoFlowering mixture specific to Auto's so feeding is seed to harvest.....or
3] coco with perlite but that means feeding nutes, etc.
My other question is depending on soil choice................should I expect to have to deal with a GNAT issue no matter what I choose???
As you can see, I am trying to get to a KISS system after the SEVEN-month ordeal I created last year.
Help is greatly appreciated.
PS: I have a 100w LED board and I think instead of scraping it for a whole new system [expenses are a very real issue] I'm going to get another of the same and piggyback them for 200w...even though that may not be enough either. Maybe I'll add some additional cans for a boost...accepting opinions here too.

] is the allowing of gnats into the home. I bring plants in & out during the year. I have had luck with sand & Diatomaceous Earth but not having to deal with it would be nicer.
