First Time Growing From Seed

First time growing from seed and it looks like I may be running into an issue based on the look of the leaves.

currently in pure coco
hard water with a bit of cal mag ph’d to 6.2
LED light, 340 watts about 42 inches from canopy.

any suggestions?

Add 30% perlite. Half strength nutes to see if they can handle it. pH between 5.5-6. If you have a fish tank air pump, oxygenate your water for at least 15 minutes prior to testing pH, just before watering. Check the light manufacturers recommendations for canopy distance. 42" is high. Even mine never goes above 28".
Or, you can come back and ask why they died.
 
It's about what they will begin to do. Pure coco will suffocate the roots, has no nutrients, and works better at a lower-than-soil pH. Keeping your light 42" is crazy high unless, possibly, it is a high-grade pro light. At this point, it will stretch, turn yellow, fall over, and die.
I'm going to guess those seeds popped soil at least a week ago?
 
Why do you suggest oxygenating the water before testing its pH? Nebula recommends the opposite, see this excerpt from the page on pH https://www.growweedeasy.com/ph

“Shaking Water Changes the pH: When checking and adjusting pH, some growers like to shake their water container to make sure everything is evenly mixed. This works well, and roots love the extra dissolved oxygen, but it’s important to understand that after shaking the nutrient water for a long time, the additional dissolved oxygen will raise the pH of the water. Don’t worry about this – don’t retest then readjust the pH. If you’re going to hand-water to your plant, you want to make sure you go by the pH of the water before it was shaken up. In hydro, the water is going to be oxygenated anyway, so shaking it before testing is ok. If water is allowed to sit for a while, it’s normal for the pH to change a bit. When it comes to mixing, make sure you mix water gently so nutrients and pH Up or Down are evenly distributed, but avoid vigorous shaking until after you’ve already adjusted the pH.“

Right, but the point is to adjust the pH before oxygenation, not after. I just don’t want anyone new around here to get the wrong idea.
 
Rik Per your comment #2.3. If I pH the water/nutes before oxing, I will have to check it, again, after oxing since oxing might have raised the pH. Are we saying the same thing?
 
Gingerbeard I don’t think we’re saying the same thing. My reading of the quote that I posted is that you should only adjust the pH before heavy shaking or any other method of oxygenation. My understanding is that any pH increase caused by the increased oxygen is temporary and should be ignored. Do you read the quote differently?

Well, Rik ol' buddy. I read the quote. Not sure it was there at first.
What I post is what I'm doing. What I've done. I disagree that pH should be done before shaking the nutes. FF Tiger Bloom or Big Bloom raises pH a good bit. If I pour an amount in my 5 gallon water bottle, it makes for a b-line for the bottom. pH will be low until I shake it.
 
I get it. If it’s working for you, then great. No need to change it. But it was important to me to point out the difference of opinion between yourself and Nebula. Now, Nebula is obviously just a mere mortal, subject to all of the same inherent pitfalls of humanity as you and I… but I’m not a physicist or a chemist, so in this particular issue I’ll choose to trust what she’s saying.

Whatever the case, oxygenate water. It's good for the planet. Doesn't kill trees at its end-point. Dolphins will still frolic, as dolphins oft do..
