    air flow quick question

I am just starting my second grow I made sevral upgrades new lights and a charcoal filter and blower I did a bit of overkill by getting a 6 in 300 cfm system for a 4x4x 7.
'I got everything installed and running but I cant feel any air coming out the vent ? I have the filter connected directly to the blower with 2 less than 45-degree bends i in 10 ft. s this normal?

I found out it was a bad motor KUDOs to IPOWERGROWLIGHTS THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT MOTOR IN MY HAND IN ABOUT 72 hr (Im sorry about caps new key board) ok 1 issue fixed new issue you would think after 60 years I would know "bigger isn't better" you got a 4 IN BLOWER.. WELL, i GOT A 6 IN BLOWER AND IT CAN CLEAR MY TENT 3 TIMES IN 1 minute (sry cap thjing) which is really cool if someone drops a test tube with a biohazard in it , or quickly get out Ill suck all the air out and put out the fire. but when comes to controlling the environment in a grow tyent ... not so much if I put a 6in dampner at thew end of my vent will that give me more control over the blower? thx guys you rock. and remember Neil, southern man don't need you around we'll keep smoking in a free world!

Is the fan 'pushing' or 'pulling' the air flow thru the filter? The filter should add some resistance to the air flow, depending on the filter style, it might make a difference in the pressure drop across the filter depending on the direction of the flow (some filters may have an arrow indicating the proper flow direction for the filter).
Glad that the main problem was found and quickly fixed!

hey DW2 thx for your response I am aI am pulling from the filter about 5 ft and pushing it for the remainder, I have the filter in the top right corner at the door and the air exits the opposite side . I have 45's and a 90 bend and the air goes out the top of the tent with all that I have to turn off my blower to get the humidity up there to 60-70 % humidity for now but my seedling are no longer seedlings and the humidity needs to be around 40-50% and that is easier to maintain. I do have vents in the bottom on 2 sides and a vent with a open duct that blows air in from a 6 in t\fan. does this help? what would you recommend ?
        thx

Puglover1, I am using two 10-gallon totes with five 3 3/4-inch net pots each. The sixth position is used for the ice bottle and for filling and topping off the reservoir. I currently have five plants in one and two in the other. the reservoir with five plants will, most likely loose tow of the plants because they are 'stunted' out by the shade from the larger plants. Normally, I end the grow with three plants in each reservoir.

I've got a 4" and 6" AC Infinity fans with controllers. You can set them to run for temp or humidity. Work great and have a 10 speed selection. I've found though you need to oversize them as it runs at the lower speeds more often. Seldom need to high speeds unless flushing the tent. So if the tent has a 6" exhaust port, that is the size you should get. A bit overkill but when you start adding bends, filters and backflow stops you need the extra push.

In my 3x3x5'H veg tent I started with 4" inline, not big enough, went to a 4" axial single speed. It worked great with a temp controller but the high speed was too much left uncontrolled. Noisy too.

I too have a bifold closet grow. Got a 2x4x6"H tent to fit in there this year. I use to grow three in the space but have gone down to two for better yield.

3Berries With the 2 x 5.5 closet I grew 3 large indica photos. I'm trying to decide, I was going to try one sativa and 3 WW fasts but I should probably stick with 3 plants. I don't mind the closet, it already had an exhaust fan in the ceiling from years ago, but I'd prefer two solid doors over the bi-folds. I have a 3rd bedroom with a smaller closet that butts up to the other one, both closets are in the wall separating those two bedrooms. I though about combining them, knocking out the dividing wall. Might give me a 2 x 8 x 8. The beautiful old home I grew up in had a closet that was accessed from two different bedrooms.
