    Using initial runoff water?

Hi everyone, thanks for reading and happy new year!

I just prepped two pots for a new grow with happy frog soil with added perlite and a small amount of dolomite lime. I watered the pots until runoff (no seeds in them yet).

Can I use this runoff water for a feeding on my current grow? Current one is an auto flower, about a month along, in the same soil set up as above.

I measured the tds and is seems a bit high for a feeding @ 1800ish. I thought I’d dilute it to around 1000ppm and obviously check/adjust ph.

edit: I guess I’ll add why, lol… it seems like it would be like a compost tea, all kinds of good stuff in the happy frog and nothing introduced other than the lime.

    Thank you for your input!

It’s nothing like a compost tea but yes I’m sure you can doit. Shouldn’t be enough runoff to cause any issues but if you are able to water another pot just with the runoff of another you are overwatering for sure.

Well it's not recommended to allow pots to sit in runoff, we teach using a riser under the pot for airflow MH47 FYI well known by old school growers.

Thanks for the reply’s! It is definitely not my normal watering practice, I was trying to ensure a good initial soak. Also this is an experiment with smaller hard sided pots in a smaller tent. I added some extra perlite in the bottom to help with drainage and they drain well! My typical watering get about 10ish percent runoff. My water is very soft so I’m always adding something. I thought this could keep the adds away for a watering or two.

            Thanks again!

                  Thank you for the reply!

I diluted and fed it to the old girl yesterday. I also planted the two new seeds 😁
