    Growth during flowering

I've read this a lot on this website and in the forum that the time to switch from veg to flower is when your plants have reached about half the available height in the tent as they will double during this phase. I followed that advice and after 8 weeks of veg my plants were close to half the avalable height and I cut the light to 12/12. My plants continued to grow and gained about 4" of height and then stopped growing. I don't know what the strain is. I'm at almost 8 weeks of flower now, I don't have any problems, they are healthy and should be ready to harvest very soon but what might the reason be for the lack of growth. My own thoughts are that maybe the pot is too small (about 1 gallon), as it's winter I struggle to keep the temp over 22C, maybe the 600W LED isn't enough.

You may want to add some info about your grow and pics would be nice using natural light.

    1 sf2000 @200 watts
    2 philzon @230 watts
    2x4x5 tent
    3x6x8 closet

3 gal pot holes in sides and bottom
    RH 40-60
    Temp 70-80
Feeding with FF trio with molasses
calmag and a little flower fuel
Light at 10 -16 inches above canopy

One gallon pots WILL restrict the growth. I agree with LemonBud, give us more information, like the number of plants and what you're feeding them. If it's only one or two, the 600 Watt LED should suffice. I personally have noticed lower temps will significantly slow growth too. The good news is you probably won't have to raise it only a few degrees. Good luck!!
A Legend...in his own mind - , 48" X 60" X 80" 2-in-1 Grow Tent, Flower light: Vivaspectra P2500 LED. Veg light: Mars Hydro TS600 & Mars Hydro TS1000 LED lights. Nutrients: GH Flora Trio/Calmag coco/perlite, GH PH Down or pure lemon juice, in case PH down isn't available.

I think you been vapor pressured to much is this the " New Way" no thanks i will stick with the old way. Simple and effective

I think your pot size is the reason for smaller plants or could be watering practices early on. OR they are a hybrid crossed with ruderalis DNA, keeping them short. 30 degrees C is too hot for flowering plants..no idea what vapor pressure differential is(thinking too hard) and what is limited daily light integral?? Unless the plants are in a sealed off room..you dont need extra CO2. @MH47...Care to show us some of your grows?

MH47, i opened your attachment expecting to see some of your grows. You do realize this study is 14 years old, drawing on info 20+years ago?... And you do realize all these tests were done on ONE plant..actually the leaves off One sativa plant? And you do realize this was a scientifically controlled environment? What kind of lights were they using? Soil? Fertilizer? Water, PH level? Is Mississippi even a legal grow state? Go ahead and follow your lab coats..They didnt mention how their harvest went....was the smoke any good?? What do you wanna bet they just threw it out after the study? I'd rather learn from experienced growers who grow Awesome weed, than a bunch of bookworms doing it cause its their job. Again...No pictures of either of your grows?

So anyway, thanks for the comments. It would seem that the unanimous opinion is 'use a bigger pot'. I've been using bagseed up to now and I've got some fem seeds on order so, my next grow will be in a 5 gallon tub. I only have a 2ft sq tent which means I will only have space for 2 plants so, I will need to up my yield game or get a bigger tent!

Sorry SGD , i got sidetracked lol. You say bag seed, was it from a dispensary? or just good old bag seed? Grow ops around here usually grow shorter more compact plants for more buds per square foot. Some plants just dont want to grow up. I have 3 photos growing now, one of which is half the height of the other two. Shes just a shorty...Usually you will see the plants double in height once switched to flower. Not sure what kind of light you have but 600w is fine for that size tent. I used to use 2 600 viperspectras in a tent twice as big as yours. And a 2x2 tent can become quite cramped with two plants in it. As far as temps are concerned..im in the same boat, every fall and winter its friggn cold in my old basement, like dark temps dipping below 60 at times. Highs are in the 70-72 degree range. Still my plants are doing fine, no issues at all. Instead of a 5 gallon tub, i suggest a 5 gal fiber pot. Much more forgiving if you over water. A bigger tent is always an option...but that also comes with a better light and more fans and better exhaust and filtration system..that can add up pretty quickly. good luck with your grow

I live in a central European country where the laws are somewhat oppressive so I don't have access to dispensaries and I have to source everything from the local garden centre. I bought a tent/light/exhaust kit from China which seems to work well and I managed to get hold of some veg & flower nutrients on a recent trip to the UK. The veg nutes looked to be working well but the flower nutes not so much. The instructions on them are a bit vague so figuring out how much is enough has been a bit of an experiment.
I'm also in the basement which is not heated but is generally kept warm through good insulation and heat permeating from upstairs and I have a little oil rad to riase the temps. I'd like to reach the point where I'm producing enough so that I don't have to have a grow going on a permanent basis. I only use a couple of grams a week so, how hard can that be? My current grow is just about ready for harvest, 3 plants and I estimate the yield will be 40-50g total which means I will have to start the next grow straight away.
