    LST and stuff

    Hi guys,

I'm new here and trying to gather some information about LST and seedling. My first doubt is that I have some almost 2 year old storaged improperly - I've putted them on a yellow M&M package, although last week I've storaged them onto a black package on my fridge. So I was wondering if the overnight soak it's a good method for germinating them or if there's another suitable method for this occasion.

Also I've read a lot about LST and topping methods, along with defoliation. And I'm having a hard time understanding when I first top and LST, is it on early vega? Some say to top and LST only after 6 nodes or so, but as I'm a new grower, I'm probably trying LST and defol. (but not topping, as a HST technique). Anyway, if someone could explain me better those techniques I would appreciate a lot.

Is it a good idea to transplant from a cup to the main bucket before the 6th node when manifolding? How should far should my bulbs be from the 6th node when I manifold? I have 6ft tall tent so what worries me is that my babies couldn't get much light if I don't lean those bulbs near them on my 600w setup..

    Regards,
    Mr Pot

welcome, this is a good, very knowledgeable place you've joined...

these can be found by searching 'lst' over at the main site, www.growweedeasy.com

Low Stress Training is like bonsai for cannabis plants. Plants are trained to grow flat and wide, which forces them to produce many big buds instead of just one or two. As a result, LST gives you bigger yields without changing your setup!

As for your improperly stored seeds, you will have to see whether they germinate or not. If they've been ruined due to moisture, you will know it soon enough...

Well, I was referring myself to this topic (4th) on Nebula's guidebook: http://www.growweedeasy.com/germinat...eeds-overnight

I was wondering if I shouldn't keep them oldies overnight soaked and if they germinate I just do the standard procedure.
About lights, the objective is only to produce heat here, right? So any lamp would do? Or should I use something more specific?

Yeah, I've read it and probably will start training my babies from the start, I'm a new grower but I'll take the challenge. I'm manifolding them and when I do that I'll upload some pictures, cuz this technique was easier to understand than others and it really explains the table of green (also combines 3 techniques). If you have a guess on what I've questioned about manifolding, le'me know!

Ok, maybe I didn't understand which question you wanted answered: what is it exactly that you're asking about LST? When to start? 6 nodes?

U can soak seed for up to a week if needed as for improper storage I kept some in sox drawer wrapped in a celphane wrapper from a cig. Pack for a year worked out well. It's the humidity and mold that can hurt them. As for lst and topping you can top after the 3th node or any time after that if plant is strong enough to take it don't try to much at one time or you can stunt it growth. Keeping it green

Won't you drown it if you soak it for that long???

You're saying to soak them till they sprout and then paper towel aight? Something like if it don't sprout while it's soaked for a week, it won't sprout at all?

I was wondering how far I keep my lamps from seedling to transplantion for a main compartment and if it won't be a lot stress for my girls to transplantante and manifold them right away. Should I only go for the looks healthy method?

Aight, I got that and won't double up the quantities, I know what's overfeeding a plant.

Most growers say that in order to train ur plant for a more desirable yield your plants have to veg for a longer time and that leads to a conflict with the charts I've posted here. Which week of nutrients and it's quantities should I "copy" and make the following week the same as this one, u know? I'm not talking about overfeeding, I'm talking about prolonging vega and how to deal with a chart that says for you to stop this stage at week 3 when I'll probably start to bloom in week 6. Nutrients quantities on both phases are different and I'm quite sure that it's a mistake to just follow the chart when it comes to that.

I hope now you understand it hahaha

Like I'll probably copy week 3 to w4 and w4 to w5 then I'll flush in week 6 it if they're good to go!

My understanding is that you arrive at full strength vegetation nutrient dose, and if you are prolonging your veg. stage beyond the 5th week, for example, continue feeding that same amount for as long as you are in veg.
