O.K., now I have an interesting question when it comes to harvest time. We all know there is a certain timeframe in which to harvest your Indica or Sativa plants. Indica is "supposed" to be between 8 -10 weeks with week 9 being the approximate "prime" harvesting target. Sativa on the other hand "supposidly" 10 - 12 weeks (could go as far as 14 weeks total if outdoor strain) with week 11 being "prime" harvesting target. Coming into play are hair color and trichomes, to get maximum milky white at as close to 100% that you can get before any amber appears indicating THC is now starting to change and degrade when this starts.
Now, 2 weeks ago at week 6 I was cleaning up, tying up, staking, and moving my plants around and had trimmed 1 of my Sativa's which had small popcorn buds all white trichomes from the lower part of the plant which was in my opinion a waste of plant energy, let them dry in an aluminum tray in the closet, no curing until a day or 2 later in a small jar.
So this morning for the 1st of the day, I decided to try it. WOW! What flavor! Good morning and smile!. Oh so good! Where has this been??? I am very impressed!!! Me likey!!!
Today is week 8 of flower, My Indica should be ready soon as trichome watch is in effect and this one is really fruity smelling, so should I push 1 more week, watch the trichomes daily OR cut it down now???
The Sativas are only into week 8 (including the one I just smoked) and have approximately 2 - 3 more weeks. To me, I wonder as some look really really nice and others are not quite as pretty but getting there. This is where my question lies: IF that 1 Sativa was this good at week 6, is going to the maximum time until harvest going to be just as good or if not better??? I don't know, this was 3 - 4 hits and done!!! Clean burning and slow smoking. Unbelievable, probably my best yet!!!
