Dunno about spraying nicotine on my plants...I know it works on houseplant, tobacco infused spray, done it. On veg mj there's plenty of safe products on the shelves or simply find any recipe with dishwashing soap and vegetable oil. soft body bugs like aphids and mites can't handle the stuff. Only problem is that they build resistance to it so you need to alternate forms of treatments every 3-4 days till after there's no signs of them left. Soap and oil, then spinosad, then azamax then soap and oil again to finish for example. Rule of thumb is keep them healthy as hell during veg and spray then if needed. No spray in flower is best all together. Mites and webs can be removed manually if needed in that phase, aphids can be squished!

When it come to both spider mites and aphids, the only product I know which has actually stood up and worked against them for me is "Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance Herbal Pesticide" for mites, insects and fungus. Its 100% Vegan, and really was happy reading the MSDS on it too as its basically just essential oils blended together. The ingredients list Cinnamon, Clove, Rosemary and Thyme oils, and honestly it smells like some warm baked sweets. It costs about $30 for a gallon bottle, you just need to shake it up really well and spray it on, way easier to just buy it and spray for molds and everything. On spider mites they say spray 3-times every 3-days to completely wipe them out., I used it to kill off the ants, aphids and thrips that tried to hit with complete eradication of the pests and molds. I say that because in that book he explains in a bit of detail important information about the pest you are up against, so you know how to best fight such a thing and then lists all the things that work against it and what works best over another thing. Aphids are a challenge in of themselves, because they can turn toxic chemicals into things which are no longer toxic to them either through their DNA and offspring, or by indesting it himself and then neutralizing it, hence why one time you used a product against them and the next time it will have no effect at all. Its all a part of their way they are able to survive in nature and knowing that very important piece of information helped me.
The only way to become the a good at anything is to read about it and learn all you can about it, and if it's something you love why not become an expert in it? The best place for anyone to start is at the beginning and make sure we didn't overlook anything, so let's go back to the basics.
