What's up all my favorite people So we are getting ready to start our second grow today or tomorrow. This time we are going to start with seeds. I'm using solo cups with Kind Soil (http://www.kindsoil.com/seed-starting.html) to germinate under a humidome. My question is this: I'm NOT going to use my LED to germinate but rather I have a metal housing reflector unit that will be aimed at the seeds. Is this an ok setup for germination (lighting specifically) as I have a 60Watt CFL bulb in there. Just wondering if that's enough light to ensure that they will sprout? As always any help is appreciated!

Good luck! They actually don't need any light until the sprout is showing a green cotyledon. They do need some warmth, like around 73F. A CFL within a few inches of the top of your soil should do that. you really won't need your LED or MH light for that for a couple weeks.Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.
