    Curing help and advice

Hi all - first time grower. Harvested almost 4 pounds off four plants. Dried, fine trimmed and in mason jars. Burped everyday, and I have hygrometers in each strain.

My question is about timing. All of them hit 62% humidity after being in jars for about 3 weeks. Does the curing start after they get to the 62% or have they been curing all along? They all have no smell of grass or hay, and smell like good cannabis when opened.

I'm impatient to try them...ha ha!

I did read it, I was just confused by the timeline due to my humidity swings at first.

Experimented today with my Blue Dream, and it is very good 😁 Feeling lucky.

Impressive haul! My understanding from the main site is that curing happens most efficiently when the RH of the environment is 60-65%. If your environment was drier than that, the curing process may have slowed or stalled.

If you're eager to sample, do it! Then you can compare your experiences after the bud has had more time to cure, and determine for yourself how well-cured they were at this point in time. Sampling won't hurt and from the sounds of it you've got plenty of bud to spare.

I would have to agree. I live with some Jamaicans and they smoke as soon as it’s dry. But the longer the cure the better it will smell and smoke. I believe I read a 2 week minimum.

You’ll get a good idea of what the bud will be like after a 3 week cure. If they smell good now then you’re golden. Congrats on a nice harvest. What I do if I’m short of bud at harvest time is use one or two jars as my personal use and keep the rest curing as long as possible. That way by time you open them they’ll be waaaay better than the stuff you’ve been smoking.

So after the initial 2-3 weeks of burping and the RH stabilizes at 62% it can be left in the jar without further burping?

          thanks
