    Culling bud sights

How does everyone decide which buds to cut off when you have too many? I obviously shouldn't have tried growing 3 plants in this 4x4 space, next time will only do 2. I need to thin these girls out so they can have room to finish growing. Plants are at the end of week 2 of 12/12 lighting. I've been removing about 200 or so leaves every 2 days trying to keep light to bud sights and humidity down. Already have cut off about 30 limbs to give some space, that really hurts.I know I've got some big decisions to make coming up. Just wondering how you all do it?

      What I do:
      A) Remove growth tips that are not at the surface.
      B) Remove growth tips that will never ripen regardless of the amount of spreading out you do (tends to be more toward the center or far outside)
      C) Let loose all training wires and re-tie them with the plant as splayed out as is possible
      D) if you still have over 60 growth tips - Go back to A
This generally happens during the week 3 flowering defoliation

Nice problem to have - too many bud sites. The girls look great BTW

Thank you I've had a good teacher.

I have this issue myself with manifolds but getting better since I’ve been following BU2B’s advice. I can scrog the hell out of a plant but I don’t get the yields off manifolds I expect. I’ll keep trying because they look cool AF and I have nothing else to do 😂

I do what BU2B does. I also pretend to be a beam of sunshine and look to see if all the buds have light. The ones that can't, go. Also don't forget to listen to what your plants are telling you and grant some of their wishes. Sometimes it is easier to work with them than force them to do something.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

I guess I'm just having a hard time with it cause you spend all that time trying to grow many buds. Then turn around and cut a third or a half off. I know its gotta happen, so I just need to man up and gitter done when its time.

Man I stopped taking hallucinogens years ago. Although we watched Have a Nice Trip on Netflix last night which brought back some good memories 😂

But you don't need hallucinogens to hear what your plants say, just listen and pay attention.

One thing different for you is that you've got headspace and can grow taller plants. I would get a stepstool and look down onto the plants if i can see soil pretty well than i quit. It's hard to remove healthy stalks but well worth it to push the plant into focusing on the stalks left to get the energy from the ones taken away. At mid flower i strip the bottom growth and remove large fans. You got this Smoklahoma

supercrop as many as you can. you need headspace. if I can save my plants Ima have to top again or tie them far outwards. I supercropped some of 1st grow, nicest colas. mine coulda woulda shoulda been flipped to 12s by now. best laid plans .... good luck!

Those are some tall girls. Maybe next time consider doing two per side so you can spread them out more instead of having them grow so tall. Bare branches going outward will leave you with buds growing upward. Just looking at your set-up and current grow I'd say that 4 plants can easily produce what is now taking 6 if they were splayed out a bit more as this would allow for more bud-sites and more room to grow them in. Picture your current plants with all the bare branches going horizontally. Not the only answer I'm sure, but if'n it were me, that's what I'd do.

I'm not doing a very good job keeping these things thinned out. I've been super cropping the branches that have grown into the fan. Still growing about 3 inches a day. I wish they would stop.

You should be close to the end of THE STRETCH. 90% happens in the first 3 weeks of flowering. Very nice job. The girls are looking great! Without a doubt something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
