    Week 3 of auto learning....

Y'all know I'm a photo grower and grow mostly sativa strains. So here is my question : Does autos really do stretched like photos ? Just asking !! I couldn't find an answer to my liking on the web. So far they are growing fine and I think by the size on some of the autogirls they look about right for autos non ?

This morning I decided to cut a few fan leaves from the fourth node and upward to expose a few bud sites.

Anyway here a few pics of my autogirls after 20 days or more...

Yes they will stretch. Sometimes alot. I know this will get some pushback but your just stunting your plants by taking those leaves off. They are feeding the node they are under. Have tested this before by taking one leaf off of one side and leaving the other. That node slows in growth. Tuck those leaves in. They will eventually be under the canopy. Now those plants will waste energy replacing that solar panel. They are a little small but look healthy. Don't kill them with kindness. Leave the pruning for photos.

Well will see in a few days if they are in stress or not right ? Oh by the way I cut a leave on one of my Amnesia Haze a week ago and she is doing fine, a branch is growing now where I cut the fan leave.

Look at pic #4 and you will see where I cut the fan leave.

I agree with the first sentence in the above post. Everything else said is forgettable.

One has to pay attention to each plant - some don't need pruning - while others will grow grow leaves as fast as one trims them. Just have to watch them. But once the flowers begin then they don't grow back. If you have tight node spacing then pruning is a good thing.

Your plants look really good Farmbuck . Great color.

Thank you sir !! Next week I'm giving them a bit of Cal-Mag plus but just half of what they recommended. I just wanna see how they will react on feeding. And yes I do treat the girls as individual.

Here's a LSD that I topped and exposed bud sites - found out she was a fast grower - so I clipped leaves every second day for about 2 weeks - as soon as pistils began I stopped cutting as many leaves.

With her I found out by exposing those bud sites I wasn't seeing the bud grow but the surrounding new leaves were suddenly getting light - and the leaves grew fast as she turned into a bush. Those bud sites also kinda turned into branches. At this stage she was about 20 centimeters tall - these pics are after her flower stretch and she is 35 centimeters tall now. So she stretched about 55%.

Beautiful plant! She has the tightest nodes I've ever seen. Had to have been challenging to do any training!

Forgettable is a little harsh don't you think? Maybe I should start each sentence with this is just my opinion. Just going off of my past rodeos folks. Carry on.

I will say " now if she were mine, i would try.........." Every grower may go down their own path that works for them. If it ain't broke why change it? But for training i experiment with defoliation an topping, LST. On both photo an auto. Freedom to try something new.
