    The beginning

Hi guys , as a noobie what I really wish to say , is thank you all for the massive information to be found on the forum . Thanks to your help I have managed to get two plants started and they look so far not bad .
They are two Northern Lights as recommended here by you guys (I mean Nebula Haze and Sirius) for beginners . Its a lot of hard work running a forum . And if it wasn't for your efforts I would not be able to enjoy the pleasure of looking forward to reaping a , hopefully , bountiful harvest in the next six weeks or so . Now I'll try to upload some pictures . Seeds set on 17th. August . As I got al load of free seeds , of course I planted some of them . All of my seeds germinated ! On day 14 I had to dump the ones that didn't fit into my cabinet . Winter is nigh . But the two babies who did have room in my cellar closet are looking good , to my way of thinking . I haven't really fed them yet . I gave them a nettle jauche reduced to 5% on day 24 . Now I am on day 27 - the toughest day . I transplanted the largest baby to a 10 litre container . That's all the room I have . Never again . Both me and the little darling were close to keeling over . I was eighty yo. this year . But we both made it . I've no pot at the moment so, a good German Bier helped to keep me going . And I gave the two babies a good fresh bath of clean water . Tomorrow I think I'll give them a 50% nettle jauche . Or should I try some tomato nutrients I've got ? One way or another . I'll spend a couüple of hours studying your forum for advice to help me on my way .

Thank you Tokabigone for your kind words . I haven't yet figured out how the text (comments) function on my images . I found out that when I hover over the image then you can read the text . Not really what I intended to do . But I'll read the smallprint next time before I post . Thanks again . If you think I'm screwing things up with my nutes please give me a shout . I really don't know what I'm doing .

You really have done your homework before starting your grow. Good job! One thing I do note is you are in plastic pots. Good and bad. M will do best in the new cloth pots as they let the roots breathe and oxygen is vital to them. I recommend a trusted person drill 1/4 inch holes at least every 3 inches. A regular small electric drill will do this easily and your roots are not yet big enough to be compromised by the drill if you don't go more than 1 to 2 inches. Or have that person help you to trans to cloth. They are inexpensive on Amazon or grow stores.

I don't recommend tomato fert for cannabis. Get a M specific fert for your particular medium as you don't say what that is. Medium pricey. What's in the pots?

Just so you know LankyBird I ran a poll on here to determine the age groups of growers onboard in 10 year increments. The resulting graph showed a very interesting stair step increase as the ages increased. So far the eldest has been 74 with that one a few months older than me. So congratulations you are now The Senior, lol! Sorry no badge but you can get a discount on coffee most places.

Thank you Tokabigone , the first time I tried to post to GWE , I mentioned that I am based in Bavaria, in southern Germany . I don't think that post went anywhere . Pot is absolutely verboten here . Re your question as to what my medium is , it is just soil for planting , maybe tomatoes or paprika . It has an NPK value of 0,25 : 0,22 : 0,7 . And the water I use comes from below my garden and has pH 6,5 . When I check the values on the soil in the black plastic buckets I get close to pH 6,5 . I have flushed quite a bit . Going on your advice , I will try to locate 'M' here . There are sources . Will drill holes as you suggested (I do things myself still) and next time round I'll get some canvas pots . Again , thanks a mill . Will stay in touch .

This site is not like some of the other 420 forums. People actually try and help each other out, are polite (for the most part, lol) and are encouraging. Welcome to GWE. This is how we roll.

To TOKABIGONE , I didn't mention , but I originally intended to start out some two years ago doing Deep Water Culture . I did loads of research and was all set to go. But things happened and I suddenly had a supply that did away with the need to do my own grow . Hence the metal drum on the right in my cabinet. But then that supply came to an end and I decided I would just do a soil grow , and as organic as possible . I'd forgotten most of what I learned two years ago on DWC . Thats the reason I was planing on using the Tomato nutrients .
Another thing , The reason one girl is smaller is , because although I was studying and researching constantly in GWE , and wanted ro make sure that I wasn't going to kill my babies , I ignored the fact that one container was only half the size of the other !!! I missed out on what was right under my nose! Now that's what I call stupid . Well , you live and learn . Must go down and drill some holes . Regards .

I am just very impressed with the fact that you did so much research and study before jumping into this hobby. I don't call it stupid, it's learning! So you did all your set up yourself? That's awesome! You were a young adult in the 60's and your country was still under soviet control I believe. You must have some interesting but scary stories to tell. Hey if I get too personal just tell me to butt out, lol!

Well, TOKABIGONE , it was actually the Americans who were in this part of Germany during those years. A lot of what they left here , besides peace, was mostly candy and jazz . But I prefer to stick to Mary J. right now . No offence meant .

No offense taken dear lady! I was a little off in my history/geography. I thought your American was too good to have grown up under the soviets. i'm only on my second indoor grow and I learned a lot from the first but most of my knowledge comes from almost a year of study. Indoor grows can be tricky so watch them closely as sometimes changes can happen overnight!
