    Feeding nutrients

Hello, I see a lot about what to feed and when to feed it. So my question is follow the directions of the nutrients it says how much per square ft ect but how much am I actually supposed to water them with it? I make 15 gallons for 15 plants. They each get 1 gallon of solution at the base i circle from the stock outwards once a week. They look pretty healthy now that we have control of bugs and the septoria. We grow outside straight in the ground. Also should i feed them more like twice a week. They're all in flower and one is gonna be ready in about 3 to four weks give or take a week.

We water daily. I was saying when feeding i use a gallon of the water/nutrients at a time per plant.

I would agree with budgal that it doesn’t sound like enough water. With that said, your description is that they are doing great so perhaps they are fine with this degree of watering because your area gets more rain or something. Hard to tell without a pic and some more info. With an in ground plant you have to water a little less often but keep an eye on them. I would also be careful about feeding nutrients to plants that are in the ground. Make sure you have a sense of how many nutrients are in the soil to start with or you could end up burning them. If the soil isn’t very rich then perhaps you will need nutrients.

In short, if they are looking fabulous just keep doing what you are doing, although keep watch for changes as they are more sensitive in bloom. Look for fading leaves, burned leaf tips etc. with the understanding that there is some natural yellowing as the plant gets closer to harvest, usually larger leaves and from the bottom up but it can vary.

We water them daily. I only feed them once a week and use liquid nutrientsby directionon product. Just wandering if the amount when feeding is enough in that moment or should I feed them 1.5 gallons of the solution? Or should i be feeding more than once a week? Sorry if i wasn't more clear

To be really honest I would just keep doing what you are doing if they are looking good. We are all happy to give advice but your plants are the best indicator of whether you should do something different. No drooping/spots/burned tips/strange growth etc so you are golden. Watch them and if you do see anything odd that will be the time to change things up. My only warning is that some problems come on slow and some very fast (eg bugs and mold) so do keep an eye on them. Treat them like a car rental and give them a detailed walk around every day or two.

Edit - remembered you are within a few weeks of harvest - just a bit of additional bit of advice given how far along you are. First, make sure your nutrients have a growth mix and a bloom mix. In bloom you need a lot less nitrogen. If you feed them a mix for the growth part of the cycle it can impact how well your bud grows. If your nutes are specific to cannabis they should make clear the formulation for growth vs bloom. If your nutes are not specific to cannabis then you may want to explore a nute designed for the bloom part of the cycle. Second, watch your bud closely, in particular for bugs or for bud rot caused most often from damp/humid weather. If you see bud turning brown, dying sugar leaves or white fuzz in your bud you have a problem that needs pretty quick attention. Same goes for white powder mold on leaves and many types of bugs. Finally, if you are going by the seed producers information regarding your harvest window take it with a grain of salt - it is more likely an additional couple weeks, although again, your plants will tell you when they are ready, don’t count on the calendar to be right.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am using nukes design specific for bloom. And we are out there daily checking for bugs and mold. We did have an issue with some bugs that we corrected and we also had an issue with septoria which is a fungus that we corrected. We only have 15 plants so we can learn slowly. My husband and I both work nights so my mother-in-law and father-in-law are helping a lot. I love that I have outside people they're more knowledgeable to speak to about it. Thank you so much

Those are healthy looking plants in my book. You did not say how big pots were that they are in but no matter. Good for you and family helping make this grow do so well. I'm growing outdoors also in 10gal. pots. Because i have to water daily i only want small amount of runoff out the bottom when i use nutes. So far i've been applying bloom nutes everyother watering and it has not hurt them at all. I can't with hold water much more than 2days cause of heat here. Now that my largest photos are root bound in the pots cause i used plastic one is not draining nearly a quickly as others. But it's got budlets and transplanting is not a option for me so i poke holes in the soil like you would a lawn to help drain.

SoOrbudgal We're actually growing in the ground. I couldn't get pictures this morning but some of our other strains are almost 12 ft tall but thats just the single colas. They were topped but the guy that told how to do it the first time didn't tell us the right way. We figured it out a little bit to late on those lol.

LOL what a trip LOL well shit balls that's a ladder size grow ughh. Yes i would feed twice a week if inground. Ground should have plenty of minerals sometimes more than enough but under stressfull heat conditions i'd water nutes 2x week. Very best of luck to ya'll

Nice looking plants there Kkrhae1 The nutrient products, companies, often advise you to use more nutes than you need to begin. Most growers start off at half strength and go from there. Good luck, nice colas and frost!
