Do you have room to put a pot of wet dirt in your tent for RH? Your RH seems good, to me. Temps - would opening the tent a little help some heat escape? I have to keep my grow closet door open a bit, I have a tower fan blowing the house's cool air into it when it's super hot here, the heat gets sucked up into the ceiling/attic.

I think in this scenario your temp is more important than the Rh, which is low but not crazy low. My Rh often is down in that range. Desert growers would be well below that. With that said, your temp is high but also not fatally high. It is hot afternoon in the sun high if it were outside (I assume it gets a little cooler during the night hours). You could also switch from 20/4 to 18/6, which is what I use normally anyways. That will gain you a couple more hours during the hotter part of the day. Adding a swamp cooler will help both temp and humidity. I would try that but if it doesn’t replace the a/c I would try them both at the same time (although you will be emptying a lot of condensation from your A/C). You could then offset your higher fan speed.

A final solution if you are really worried, take your plants outside and let them use the best grow light of all - the sun. I used to grow indoors in the summer but I didn’t like having to run a dedicated portable A/C. Growing outside is easier because your pots are usually bigger and often with a higher soil component so less worry about lights, water and nutes and you can get bigger taste and smell from this arrangement (many people say). Downside of course is more pests to watch for and if your area gets any extremes in weather/temp/humidity/rain etc. Mine doesn’t really but not everyone is that lucky.

Maybe get a evaporative cooler or I like to call it swamp cooler instead of window AC? Or grow more plants like I did. I've had to use swamp cooler for years but now I have so many plants I need to use a air conditioner. Normal humidity for me is below 20%.

    Help! Chasing temp and rh

Day 16. Growing 2 plants in a 2x4 tent in the garage. In order to help with temps we have a decent window AC unit. Keeps the garage around 72-75 when it’s 90 or so outside.

Well, the ac takes away the rh. I added a small room humidifier and it is usually still only in the 37-50 rh range. (Starting to doubt the meter! Its the digital gauge that came with the exhaust fan)

Even with the garage temp, the tent temp often climbs to 84-87’f.

Using hlg led lights. Running autos on a 20/4 light schedule so that the lights are off between 2-6pm, likely hottest part of the day. Also currently has an oscillating tower fan running on low.

I can bring it down a degree or two by increasing exhaust fan speed. This drops rh to the lower range.

    Suggestions?
