    Trichomes - pics

I have a new toy - a USB digital microscope made by Bysameyee. For a modest outlay of £17.99 I've got a quite impressive bit of kit magnifying up to 1000x. It can be plugged into anything except an ipad and an iphone (documentation simply says "Apple Corp. blocks the data transfer function). Luckily, I'm 100% microsoft and Android!
You can use it hand-held, but I found it impossible to capture images without getting camera shake. So I shaved a small sugar leaf from my flowering Purple auto and looked at it in the "lab".

It looks to me that the trichomes have mostly gone from translucent to white, but I could be wrong.
Please give me your opinions on how far off I am from harvesting.

You shouldn’t be looking at the sugar leaves for determining when to harvest.
you need to look at the trichomes on the buds
Just because people are over 50 doesn’t mean they know everything.
You can teach a old dog new tricks - But it will still think the old ways are the “best” lol

Very impressive pic, much better than I get with my loupe. You are very close to harvest. Allow some of the tryc's to turn amber then let her rip

        Thanks for that feedback, guys.
Below is a photo of the whole bud.
So the question is - if this girl is a Purple auto, and she's fairly close to harvesting, shouldn't she be looking a bit more... er... purple?

Purple has nothing to do with harvest. It applies to the leaves. Some purple strains never ever turn purple. I just harvested 3 Super Critical, one was all purple the other two where green. Kind of like your siblings. Some have blond hair, some have dark hair.

... which is the answer I was hoping to hear, Kingfish!

Feeling quite excited now the finishing post is in sight.

The finishing post seems to be staying in the same position! Going quietly crazy here waiting for my trichs to start turning amber.
Is there any way I can force the process - playing with humidity, temperature or lighting for example?
I'm on day 90 with these girls now!

Easier said than done, mate. My missus keeps moaning about the "aroma" being generated and paranoid we'll be getting a visit from the local constabulary!

That looks clear to me......but it could be more ripe on a different bud.
