SOIL First time grower, eager to learn

    Hello beatuful people!
Just keen on your thoughts on my first time grow. I've done the topping on both of the plants and seems like it worked perfectly. I have to idea what strain it is, when it was some seeds in my weed from the local dealor.. From what i know its a little to early to tell wich gender it is? I have given them their first Tri part nutrients after transplanting on thursday. Nutrients cycle like every 5, 6 or 7 days? Feel free to give me all the advice that you got. Im jusing 200w LED red/blue light and have a dark propagator 60x40x60 tent. Have an awesome day! Thanks in advance!

First off, congrats! Growing plants is super rewarding and a great opportunity to grow with them. They look happy thus far. What type/brand of soil/nutrients are you using? I'm not seeing a lot of perlite in your soil

Thank you! Ye this stuff really got me dedicated! Just using regular herb/vegetable soil that we get here in Norway. Supposed to be very nutrient, but i will go to the store tomorrow to get some perlite! Should i put the perlite in the next time i transplant? And should it be in a 12 -15 L bucket/flowerpot? Think i did a little mistake not transplanting them into bigger pots the first time.. They are 9L those i have them in now.

I'm with NeonTofu. Your medium appears "heavy" and is retaining too much moisture not allowing proper root development. I like your idea of 15L pots and be sure to add one third perlite by volume. Lower light to reduce elongation of stem, elevate your pots and provide air circulation to allow medium to dry properly. Don't foliar spray. It retards root development. Provide nutrients every third watering, sooner if you spot deficiencies. It appears you topped above third node. Are your plants 14-17 days from sprout?

Okey okey! quirk I will do so! Ye i startet off when the seeds where sprouting with the light way to high up.. Made some rookies mistakes even though ive watched like 100 youtube videoes on how to do this stuff.. Which node is it supposed to be? They are 22 days from sprout. I have some auto seeds coming up when these are done and cant wait to get starting with those. Northern storm, cheese and caramelicious. thank you again for all the feedback

Hi Cornellstar My first grow was a photoperiod. I went from peat pots to a midsize to their final pots. I used plain potting soil in the midsize pots but I always added peat moss and perlite, like for outdoor container gardening. When I put them into their final bigger pots I bought an organic garden mix with coco coir in it, added 1/3 perlite. Put some plain perlite in the bottom of the bigger pots (maybe 3") before adding your soil mixture, it helps roots, drainage. Then keep some extra, in case you need it later to dress the top of your soil. I'd wait a bit before transplanting again. Happy growing!
Soil: Coast of Maine Stonington Blend, perlite; Seedlings: CoM org potting soil
      Indoor: 2 x 5.5 x 8' Closet grow
Viparspectra XS2000; EnjoYield 220W full spectrum light added during flower
      Various size fabric grow bags
Cal-Mag & GH Trio if needed; Flower Fuel & molasses during bloom; ReCharge
4 clip fans. Exhaust into attic is vented to the eaves
      Current grow: DEAD FLOWERS

I sure would. Prepare your (per) lite, fluffy, well draining medium, moisten to a slight runoff and place in your grow environment for a couple of days before transplanting.. Let your current pots dry out, then transplant.
I grow autos exclusively Cornellstar and when I topped them, I would wait for a mature 5th node, then top above 4 or 5. I now LST only, as I've found it increases my yields by 1-2 ounces over topping. It's all grower preference
