Very healthy looking plants HighDesertGanjaFarmer , personally, I would not defol quite yet. The energy from those fans will help them grow more for at least another week to ten days before you trim. Then do it again just before the switch assuming they are photo period. Are you going to do any training such as LST? I did both a manifold and LST which helped to keep the canopy more level and open for light penetration. Good growing!

That’s some bushy weed and I’m with Toka don’t trim the plant used a lot of energy to make those leaves only because it knew it would pay back that energy and then some plus it looks like those leaves are already trying to grow out to let in more light you’ve got a group of very healthy plants let them do their thing a bit longer

I do a lot of tucking of big leaves at that stage to get light to the new growth, yet not eliminate anything.

Take them off - as well as a few that are on top covering up bud sites below. Do that and those bud sites you expose will become branches.

Fan leaves are solar collectors. They absorb the light to feed the plant. Leave them be and start doing some plant training in a week or two. training can go a long way in increasing bud sites. Once the plant moves into flower then you could start selectively removing large leaves.
I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.

If you have high-quality lights with good penetration, leave fans on until they start stacking over one another or covering potential buds.

Fan leaves are storage tanks, the plant stores mobile food in them to use later.

This is a good point. I am finishing up several plants of the same strain. One had a phosphorus deficiency and the other two didn’t. The one that had it had more fan leaves removed.
