    scrog help overcrowded ?

Hi evryones, I'm Julien, growing in France, in a steel cabinet, which the size is quite limited...(80cm wide x 150cm height x 45cm depth)
I'm using fist time aeroponic system, with hps 250w, cooltube, carbon filter, extract 400mph, intract by computer fan, two humidifier, one clip fan.
my day temp is: 22-27C• with 40%humidity
night time is: 19-22C• with 55% humidity.
my ''soup'' is ph 6, and EC today is1,4...
I'm using ghe flora series, root booster, and bacterial...

I ve germinated first time two seeds (lsd, and white widow) but due to short period, I was not there to add water, lsd died dried in root riot, and white widow sprouted few inch, and then fall down dried too also. By re watering , this WW seems to re start grwo but very very slowly...
then I germinate another two...critical2.0 , libertyhaze...which are now at about 20 days...

I was worry to use the pump all day running so two first week was set up at abt 3min on and 1,5hour off. Then I ve double and put 7min ON for 1 hour Off... I had feeling that the grwo started very slowly...but now it start to really grow daily...much more...
the critical has 7-8 nodes and I ve topped at 5 and start some light LST.
the libertyhaze has only 5 nodes and I ve topped at three for same purpose...
the ''rescuer'' white widow is now finally at 4 nodes, but her devlopment is really slowest...

I plan to scrog, due to my height very limited, now it left 45CM from top of plant to lamp....
I know the haze will stretch a lot...and I knwo also two plant in a so small space is already maybe too much...

pls, give me ur advises and councils, to try complete this growing...
should I start scrog right away? Or can I wait little more ?...At what distance from pot ?
should I top again ? Or super crop ?

my lamp, even 250w hps is ''upgraded'' at 37k lumen, (which is sometime 400w equivalent).

thanks a lot for ur experiences.... my first grow was 25years ago in different conditions...and I feel totally lost....

Can you post some pictures Julien?
The main reason to leave space between the top of your pot (or whatever you're growing in) and the screen is to have room to put your hands in there to trim extra leaves out and to water. But this can be done from above, especially in a small space where it's all easy to reach over and access.
Almost any plant can be controlled in a scrog. You just have to keep on top of it and keep tying it down. I regularly scrog haze type sativas that are much too big for the screen. I guarantee you that we can control it by squishing it down into the screen. The only plants that need more caution are certain landrace sativas which can grow out of control and turn into crazy willow trees. Post some pictures if you can

Thanks for ur response...Weasel. I will take pics tonight and post. As I'm using aeroponic, no need special space for watering...my scrog I made with bamboo stick, square hole size is at abt 5-6 Cm each, and have 8long X 6 wide, so totally 48 holes for buds...it is possible to fill them all ???
      SCROG is not yet placed.
by the way, I'm also concerned at that haze will take minimum 80 days to finish, and normally critical 2,0 I done at 60-65days from what I noticed from growers reported on internet...
Can I ''define'' space for each strain ? In so small environment ??or harvesting will be headache too ?...

Yeah you can keep them separate somewhat and untangle them where you have to.

The scrog will be fine. The spaces are a little close but most of the training takes place on top of the screen. I tie mine down with pipe cleaners. I suggest you buy a bunch. Cheap and extremely useful.

I don't really know anything about aeroponics. I did make an aeroponic cloner once though so maybe it's similar. (Pics)
One concern is if both plants are getting fed from the same mix but are different strains with different flowering times. That gets tricky.
The haze has quite different nutrient level needs than your other strains. So how will you manage that?
Im really not sure of your setup so post pics of that and we can look at the situation more (probably tomorrow my time because it's getting late here)

Yes you re right about different feeding for each strain...I ve noticed that haze took and show deficiencies at the same time critical 2.0 seems absorbing much better.... but yes only one soup to feed them at same time...
also I remarked that with lower humidity haze growth is much more slow than other strain...
pics will follow tomorrow. Thanks and have good evening there....

They look happy. I see a teeny little bit of deficiency whether it's from ph or missing calmag I don't know. It will be a little tricky managing the different strains on one mix but you'll just have to feed low rather than high - generally works out better in my experience.
You can get rid of those lines from the magnetic ballast by taking your photos through the lens of some sunglasses.

Thanks for your replies...yes I ve added from last week only 5ml for 10liter soup of callgreen lite (metrop). As following growshop advise it s / kind of curing this deficiency, but also warn m it can kill or block some batceria or active in ghe flora series....??anyway haze was much concerned about spots, than critical.
do u think I also can continue this calgreen lite ? Should I use also in handspray ?

what is ur idea for SCROG placement in height ??
20cm from pot ? Or lower?

I looked up the Calgreen. Couldn't find specifics on what it contains and how much. It says it contains nitrogen so that's probably not something you'll need much during flowering.
I usually keep about 10" (25cm) of space between the pot and the screen to work in. But if you're short on vertical space it doesn't matter.

Also- to achieve that space you have to grow your plants a bunch more, and they're already covering most of the two dimensional space. I think your options are option. I'm guessing that in a small grow space like yours it's not going to make a big difference whether or not you have a lot of space to reach under the screen.
It's so small that even with a few inches space you'll be able to track in and do what you need to do.

Thanks Weasel, for your ideas and comments.
I will place screen this friday....critical 2.0 (in the middle) and libertyhaze (upper right) will be 4 weeks old, and ''rescuer'' WW will be at 5 weeks, even this last rescuer...I'm not expecting a lot due to the very slow departure and dried seedling....

in term of vertical space, does it make difference if starting flowering right away this Friday ? Or keep 18/6 schedule a week more, an then switch to flower on next friday ?

the stretch from critical 2.0 won't be same as libertyhaze....

as u said, space under will be enough to handle ''knitting''...
I will try to put screen at 15-20cm, to let me have another 30cm left...

pipecleaners are easy available and cheap...will try it ,..when first stems will have to stitch bamboo scrog net...

                will post pics, anyway...
                have a good day!!

You could maybe do a small amount of weaving through the screen- especially in veg or the early days of flowering when the stems are still flexible. But I wouldn't recommend it. It's easier and safer and generally better for light exposure to pull the branches through the screen, spread out in a pattern that covers the area best- then after that everything happens above the screen. The screen is just something to use to tie to, nothing more. It's a common misunderstanding that the plants are woven through it.

Weasel thanks for this quick explanation. Yeah I'm done weaving, heard too many cracks and pops on Sunday, plants that have vegged 3 months upright aren't easy to stick under the scrog!

                  Hello Guys,...

some pictures about this ''mini'' SCROG in the place from today!....

48 squares holes.....hope to fill all of them...
only 4'' (10cm) from ''pot'', but left vertical size is only 35cm...(still worrying me, ...a little...)

                  Flowering time starting today also.
                  Have changed my soup...PH 5,9, EC 1,7
Will try to run pump 24h/24, during one week to see if they like it....

plenty of white and long roots are falling down from chamber and swim in the main reservoir...

have a good week end...comments welcomed!!
