    Fabric or plastic??

I have been using hard plastic 20 gallon pots for a LONG TIME lol. All my other friends in this industry so to speak have switched over to cloth pots now. They used to use 20 to 25 gallon plastic as well. They all claim it's better for roots and the oxygen level which I get, but are getting the same results as before. If you're someone who made the switch from plastic to cloth have you seen a big change at all??? Thanks in advance.

I started with hard 30 gal plastic pots, couple hundred holes, and had great success, and still use them for my out door grows cause they dont dry out as fast as the fabric pots. Im using both fabric and a couple of plastic with my current indoor grow. Whatever works for you.. I see lots of growers on here that use 5 gal pails. Why didnt i think of that when i first started lol

homegrown yeah I know a lot of guys that do that too lol. I'm almost thinking that if I get the same results doing that, I'll spend less on soil at the same time which runs me 250 a month, maybe more.

I use whatever I can get my dirty paws on, I do like the cloth for inside, plastic I too punch a bunch of wholes in. I use rings outside cut from plastic food grade 55 gallon drums, each makes 3 rings with no bottom. These are a simple raised bed to help me control moisture during rainy times. I have an old water tank that no longer holds water, I am thinking of making it into rings for raised beds

$250 a month for soil, are you commercial? I build my own soil at almost no cost other than my labor.

I use both but have gone down in size for the sake of my back. I have 30gal down to 2gal both plastic and fabric. I can't use 30gal anymore too heavy for me and hubby to lift and move around. For my grows i like the larger plastic for outdoor photos and use 3gal fabric for autos outdoors.

I like the versatility of being able to combine my plastics to any size required. Though I do use the occasional 5 gal fabric.
