    Dwc questions

Hi. I'm a hydroponic newbie. Is container depth important or is all about volume. And what are the pros and cons of different sizes of net pots
    thanks

Howdy Bigeye, volume is important as well as the depth of the reservoir (container). One needs approximately two to three gallons per plant and enough depth to maintain approximate;y a one inch, or more, of an air gap between the net pot bottom and the full level of the reservoir to allow O2 absorption by the roots.

I grow DWC in 5 gallon pails. The size of the basket isn’t really relevant other than how far it extends down into the pail. My 4” baskets hang down far enough that I can only use 4 gallons of water when allowing an inch of air gap.
of course, as the roots get bigger, the available volume for water diminishes slightly, but is almost inconsequential.
There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
      1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
      2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
      3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)
