HELP! White fuzzy shell and cotyledon

I recently planted a germinated white widow auto seed in a 5 gallon smart pot. It is in ocean forest and some perlite. I planted the germinated seed a couple days ago or so, and it is just starting to pop out of the soil, but I noticed the shell and cotyledons have a white, fuzzy appearance. Is this mold? And does this mean the seedling is unusable? If it is unusable, is the soil it’s in a waste, as well? Seems like so much soil to just waste, but I also don’t want to risk this happening again. I have grown five or so of these white widow autos and have never had this problem before. I have grown them with natural light and with artificial, but again, have never had this happen. The closest thing I have experienced is a taproot having just a tiny, barely noticeable white, fuzzy appearance after I germinated using paper towel method. Also, seeds are from ILGM.


I can update my post with a pic when I get home later today. Any info/advice is greatly appreciated.

From your description, my hunch would be that it is emerging from a saturated environment. The picture will confirm or dispel.
