SOIL Need Help Understanding Feeding Charts

    Hey Everyone,

Can someone please clarify something for me on the feeding charts? The feeding charts go by weeks and give a ml/gallon and ppm level, but they don't say if they should be fed that much every watering or that much total per week.

Let me explain more with this example: Here's the Flora Nova feeding chart. For week 2 it says feed FloraNova Grow at 3ml/gallon with a ppm of 450-600. I water every 3 days.
    • Should each watering on week 2 have nutrients added to 450-600ppm? giving us a weekly total of 900-1200ppm.
    • Should each watering on week 2 have nutrients added to 225-300ppm so the total amount of ppm for the week adds up to 450-600ppm?
    • Should I feed just once on week 2 with the ppm at 450-600? with the other watering have zero nutrients added.

    Thank you!

Theres no adding The ppms, The whole measurement is based in electro conductivity, keep each watering at The reccomended value.

I read it as the ppm total should be per feeding, not per week. How many times you water that week will depend upon how quickly the plants drink. Early on, it takes 4-5 days for my plants to need water, at the end, they drink every day. I have taken the approach of water / feed / water / feed / water / feed etc. unless I see a deficiency or toxicity.

I reached out to the nutrient manufacturer of the schedule I linked, General Hydroponics, and they said the schedule was meant for feeding once per week.

The more I research into nutrients and their application the more I get conflicting information. I watched Dr Bruce Bugbee's video on Maximizing Cannabis Yields and he simply said to add 120ppm of nutrients with each watering using a 20-10-20 NPK.
Dr. Bruce Bugbee gives a game-changing master class for cannabis growers on optimizing cardinal growth parameters to maximize yields (see below for time-stam...

It seems the real answer for me will lie in testing different methods and amounts on my own and see what works.

I think you nailed it on the head there. It is important to learn the many options, but ultimately is will be what works best for your environment and comfort level.

Forget ppm. Look at ml/gallon. Look at what it says on the bottle and cut it by half and make sure you adjust the PH of the nutrient water after you have mixed in all the nutes. water with nutrients once per week and flush with properly PH'd water every other watering. look for more info on nutrients on the main GWE website
I hope there is an afterlife...there are a lot of friends and family I'd like to see again, one day.
