    Question on Mainlining

Can someone tell me what the normal timespan is between the first topping and when you flip her to 12/12.

Depending on grow space for plant size 4 weeks after topping is your target.

All my training/topping is done within 5wks from sprout doing a manifold. Mainlines take longer but same idea. Once you get your plant structure it’s all about size. How much room you have and how many plants you’re growing is what determines your veg time. Personally I’ve had the best results using this method with shorter plants. They seem to produce bigger, fuller colas. Taller plants have more fluff at harvest.

I think I fucked up. I think I topped them first at the 2nd. node instead of the 3rd. Although I didn't kill them, they sure are slow to grow. My first topping was Nov..14. Here are some pics.

I mainlined once, growth was extremely slow. Then I read nebula’s tutorial on a manifold. I’ll never mainline again.

I don't see any fuck up: they seem to be growing fine. I topped one of my current plants at the second node because the growth was so strong. But I waited till she had 5 nodes to top her.

It can take a bit of time to recover, but once it does and the roots really establish, it will take off on you. I would say anywhere from 4-6 weeks after mainlining dependent upon growth would be a common window for when people flip to flower.

I just posted these pics in Time to Show topic, but for illustration purposes, here they are again.

I follow Nugbuckets' tutorial on mainlining, because his method makes more sense to me: stem growth should be equal, and final bud sites should be equidistant from trunk. These girls are about to start week 5 of nutrients; they're around 6 inches tall; growth just started to pick up. I figure they have two more weeks to reach 14 inches before I throw the switch. They were germinated in mid-November.

I no longer worry about the length of vegetation: I'm focused on the height I want them to achieve before I switch them.

After reading everyone's respond, I feel a bid better now. I really thought I screwed up by topping at the 2nd node. After all these years I still haven't mastered patience yet. Thanks guys and gals.
