How do you make a Mother plant?

Hi everyone!! Any ideals on the best way to make/maintain a healthy Mother plant? Im a novice indoor grower, not 100% sure of how this works ( lifespan, feedings, etc.). Any tips, links. I have heard plants can go back into veg if forced, but I have long lost the article. I have a runt of the litter that might be a good candidate, but don't know shit how this works. Im not into fertilizing to retain seeds, just wondering if its possible to keep a beauty going and clone her when needed. Thanks in advance for any tips, tricks ( chains & whips...lol). Wierd science indeed!!!
