Week 5: The buds are fattening and getting shiny! My hands get sticky when I'm trimming leaves, and it's the smell is fruity, but hard to place. It's like mango or passion fruit.

Long delayed update: They're not dead yet! We're starting to see some amber trichomes, I think I'll harvest some of her buds this weekend.
This has been a pretty haphazard grow. They've been getting Rx Green Solutions nutrients, also had 2 milk feedings, I'm using tyler_ hobbyist yeast water CO2 generator trick.

I've been flowering them under 2 GalaxyHydro 300watt (label) LEDs, but got a Roleadro 400watt COB light a week ago. I know it's totally subjective, but under the Roleadro and one of the galaxyhydros, they seem to be fattening up even faster!

They look great! As far as harvest time, I think this weekend would be good for a more "in-your-head" effect, and possibly next weekend if you want more of a body relaxation effect. Sometimes it's fun to harvest part of the plant first, and then finish harvesting later, to get an idea of how the harvest time affects the potency!

It definitely makes sense that adding more light would cause buds to grow faster since light is like "food" to your plants and light levels are directly related to your overall yields! Looking good!

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Yes, Bob, this is a lot like Mario Bros. Each level is longer, weirder, and more difficult than the last, and I've still got the last 2 stages to go! I'm sure it will look different when this first grow is behind me (knock on wood, a lot can happen between now and chopping).

And even though I've been sporadic in my participation, it's been great seeing the GWE community grow! Many many new threads with a WIDE variety of problem levels, some very amusing problems, and most of all, the best growing advice available ANYWHERE!

You all are the very best. Thank you, Nebula, for creating this space!

We have smoke!

It's been 10 weeks in flower (flipped on Feb 5), and I jumped the gun a little, but some of the trichomes on some of the upper buds were turning the slightest bit amber, so I harvested about a pint jar of dried buds last weekend, SOOOO sticky! After 4-5 days drying, the smoke is REALLY nice and thick, very gentle high, active and light. And that was just the tip of the ice berg. They are really light and fluffy, though. I know I didn't trim it right because it doesn't look like the buds I've been buying, the tips of the petals are still pointy. It's not very strong and stoney, though. I hope curing improves potency, if it lasts long enough.

We're getting outside time on sunny weekend days. Mostly water feeding now that we're getting close to harvest. I've given her milk a few times, some floralicious plus.

Saturday was sunny, so everyone got to go out on the deck for the day.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks again NebulaHaze and everyone here for the collective knowledge to get some of God's green gift out of the earth. Not done yet. I've already smoked about an eighth, I'll try not to burn through it all before I'm even done harvesting.

Thanks guys, but the plant is all smoked. It was nearly impossible to keep it lit, being so green and all, but I'm one persistent MoFo.with a plumbing torch! Of course I'm kidding.

Tika and Bob: A lot of strains are known specifically for coloration, as I see on the different seed websites. This one, TGA Dairy Queen) didn't say anything about it, but the petal tips are turning a pretty purple, while the pistils are orange. Dairy Queen Jr, the mini grow in the orchid pot, was much darker colored foliage than the big one, even though it was fed pretty much identically, under the same lights. Also, the trichomes aren't nearly as thick on jr.

They smell like juicy fruit gum, but the smoke has sort of a cheesy flavor, like a blue cheese, or one of those weird english cheeses. Very thick, like a smudge pot!

Tat: that was exactly the reminder I needed, that this stuff is getting STRONGER! WooHOO!! That is obviously the only thing that makes the waiting make any sense at all, not that I'm doing a whole lot of it any more.

The flush part was pretty sporadic, I started a week ago, but every once in a while, with her leaves wilting and fading, I keep thinking she needs a little more than water. So I've given her whole milk, diluted 1:1 until it just starts leaking out the bottom, a couple times.

The difference between these very first, uncured, prematurely harvested buds is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!

But the fact I have been able to smoke any of this harvest is a testimony to the name and ethos of THIS growing community- growweedEASY!!

In contrast to the meticulous, diligent growers here who put so much work into refining their processes and grow spaces, timing their feeds and EVERYTHING, producing beautiful beautiful buds, I'm a lazy, impetuous, imprecise, and yet, with all your help, I grew some sticky-ass nugs! Growing weed EASY rocks!!

Lucky: play date coming up! We should wait for this shit to cure, though.

Dairy Queen Jr finally got the chop last night after about 12 weeks of flowering. She was cut from her mother in late January, took 3 weeks to grow enough roots to pot and get placed in the flowering tent. I've been watching the trichomes get VERY thick and frosty, but they aren't really turning amber. I looked at the undersides of the sugar leaves, and they are taking on a yellow-ish hue, and the trichomes are looking like they're getting less fine and silky. I think they may have peaked.

I'm going to try to re-veg and monster-crop. Why not? Oh, because it takes forever, it will grow back looking weird, and not yield much. Sounds fun!

Sorry Lucky, Nebula, and Sirius. I didn't read the tutorial before I started hacking. But I didn't jump on here to ask silly questions and then ignore all the answers and links to tutorials! At least I've got that going on. So I just started hacking the buds off, leaving behind a couple of live leaves. She has been demoted to the veg-half of the closet. I watered her with plain water last night, and will switch to veg-noots at the next watering in a few days.

Here's a question I couldn't find answered in the tutorials: Should I wait until she is growing new leaves before I re-pot her, or should I just do it now? I would like to put her root ball in the new Base Camp Brand of soil that I just picked up. Then, of course, she won't need veg-noots.

Big Dairy Queen has given up about 1/2 ounce of dried buds, and is still less than half-done.

I don't think it matters much if you replant now or later. I guess just to be safe, you could wait until it's grown a few new leaves before transplanting, just to help reduce the shock. But I think you could do it now and be just fine

Hi, I was planning on trying to regenerate my plant after harvest. Has anyone tried this with an indoor plant? I've done a good amount of reading and it seems

oh, and fwiw when i take cuttings from my outdoor garden plants (started in water only until i get 5-7 rootlets up and going and then i put 'em in soil) i usually let them get at least a few new leaves underway before i up-pot, just so i know the roots have "taken" in the soil. i know it's not the exact same plant and the exact same situation but like i said, fwiw...excited to see what happens!
